SOC Boys 2018 & Preveiw

Waverly.....2018 SOC Champs scored 131.50 points 21 more than 4th place Wheelersburg. probably one of the best SOC meets ever. Waverly graduated 40 plus points. 100 hurdles, and shot put was hit the hardest. For 2019 the field events will be better than average with the long jump looking the best. Hurdles will be down with not much scoring coming back. Sprints will be average. Will look real strong in the 800,1600 and 3200 with around 35 points returning. Relays will be under average with the 4x800 looking the best.

Northwest..... came in second in 2018 only 2.50 points back. NW lost only 27.5 points to graduation with the sprints taking the blow. 2019 looks like another solid year for NW. Field event won't be too strong. Shot put looks the best. Sprints might have lost the most but they still return around 15 points. Hurdles will return their top two from the SOC meet. The 800,1600,3200 will return a ton. Relay will be down in the 4x1 and 4x2 but the other two look good.

Minford.....was third in the SOC meet only 18 back of the champ. 110h, 300h, high jump and long jump lost the most from 2018. Field events will be bit under average. Hurdles will be down. Sprints will be above average. 800,1600 and 3200 will be average. Overall the relays will be good

Wheelersburg......last of the big four in 2018. Four teams scored over 100 points this past spring in the SOC meet A DQ or an injury could have changed this meet big time. Burgs lost the most in the 100m, 400m, 200m, High jump, discus and shot put. Mounting to big numbers They will return close to 20 points in those 6 events. Field events took a hit and will be down in 2019. Hurdles will also be down. Sprints will be above average. 800, 1600 and 3200 will be hurting big time. Relays should be okay.

South Webster.....here is were everything walls off in the SOC. Discus and Shot put will be good. relays will win their share. Everything else will need work

Valley.....Will score in a lot events with most of them being lower half .

Eastern.....1600 and 300 will be their best events. Could put points in the book in about 7 events

Green.....110 and 300 hurdles look good long with the High jump. Might have trouble scoring in half of their events.

Notre Dame.....Relays look like where ND will get their points. Could have a good showing in the 400. 110 could shock a few.

Oak Hill.....Only see a few events where they might get points

West/Western.....No horses

2019.....Going to go with Northwest for 2019. 2018 champ Waverly 2nd, Minford should be able to hold off Wheelersburg for third. Burg will have no trouble getting 4th. Southwest and Valley will fight for 5th Eastern, Green and Notre Dame will battle to get the number 7 spot. Oak Hill at 10th and West and Western will try to stay out of the cellar.

Waverly, Northwest and South Webster will have several boys stepping up to help the varsity. Burg, Minford and Valley will have a number of boys helping the varsity. Green , Eastern, Clay and West may have some trouble helping the varsity the first year.
