SHAC Girls 2018 & Preview

Post by noreply66 »

Eastern...They won the SHAC championship in a close one over Peebles. They lost a lot to graduation and will they be able to do it again? Field events will be around average with the discus being the strongest. Lost their top two hurdlers but will return two that picked up 14 points between them. The sprints took a big hit with no one coming back with points. 800, 1600 and 3200 will have runners back but might be a little under average. Relays don't look too bad overall with 4x4 and 4x8 the best of the four.

Peebles came in right behind Eastern by 6 points. Peeble lost only a third of what Eastern did. Peebles didn't do too well in the field events and things won't change in 2019. Hurdles will be good along with the sprints. 800, 1600, 3200 lost 10 points to graduation but will return 30. Relays will be above average.

Fairfield finished in third and probably was a down year for them. What they lost and return are real close together. Lost in the area of 25 points in the field events and will return 10. Hurdlers will be average. Sprints won't have much. 800, 1600, 3200 will have some of the best in SEO returning. Between all four relays they should be average.

Lynchburg lost better than half their points to graduation. Field events should move up in points for 2019. Hurdlers will not be any better than last. Sprints will be way down. 800, 1600 and the 3200 are below average. Relays will need some work.

Fayetteville.....Didn't graduate much, Something like 7 to 8 points. Lost a good high jump but will return one for 2019. Field events will be average with the High jump and long jump being the better. Will have nothing in the hurdles. Sprint might shock a few this coming spring. 800, 1600 and 3200 will be down. Relays will be below average with the better showing being the 4x200.

West Union.....Doesn't look if WU lost anyone from 2018. Field event need lots of work. Hurdles will be hurting. Sprints will get their points. 800, 1600,3200 will be down with the 800 looking the better. Relays will be good in the short one but hurting in the longer ones.

North Adams.....This team lost about everyone that scored points in 2018. Only put girls in about six events. Might be hard for this team to put points on the book in 2019

Whiteoak…..If Whiteoak can get more girls out to enter more events they could be a above average team. Everyone will be back from the 30 plud points they put up last year. The long jump and shot put will be good. Sprints will be mostly back and they scord 16 last season. No hurdles no 800,1600,3200. Relays will be scoring some points in 2019.

Manchester should find it hard this coming season

Reply....Don't know what to say about Ripley.

For the 2019 season I will go with Peebles to win the SHAC. Fairfield could slip into the number two spot if Eastern doesn't get some help. Going with Eastern in the third spot. West Union might have the horses to take 4th. Lynchburg, Whiteoak and Fayettevlle will take the 5th spot. Manchester 8th, North Adams 9th followed by Ripley

Girls MS.....Eastern and North Adams have a good chance to help the varsity. Peebles, Fairfield, Manchester, Lynchburg, North Adams will have their share helping the varsity. Whiteoak, Fayettsville, and Ripley Might not have enough to help.
