Lancaster dominated the boys. Athens girls made it somewhat competitive vs Lancaster

I really thought Warren would do a better job staying with Lancaster. Warren did do some changing around. Biggest thing with Lancaster is their depth. Lot of two place finishers in the top eight.

Another great meet. Weather was a lot better than every one thought it would be. A lot more boys and girls took part this year..(seemed like it)

Saw Orange and Brown directing human traffic. Scoring and timing was set up in a van.....21st century

Among other things
It was probably the warmest Rocky we have ever had. The weather held off so we we're able to get the meet in.
We had a few meet and track records fall yesterday.
Nelsonville-York had several kids out sick and we're still able to come away with first place. It was another outstanding meet.
It takes so many people to make this amazing meet happen every year.
I so proud of the Nelsonville-York community. We come together for our kids every time it is needed.
This is my absolute favorite event of the year.
I got to the school at 5:45am and left around 6:45pm. I was tired and my feet hurt but I can't wait until next year!

Sucks the Bramer girl from Trimble is at Zanesville now. She could probably win state in the small schools

Yes without a doubt....she may have won a state this yr or next in the small school. However she went to zville for a chance to be part of a very good throwing program.
A state title would be great....but she has bigger plans and actually having a throws coach and learning from some very upper level throws coaches.....she will be ready for a great run in college and thats her big goal.
She will also be in contention for a big school title as a senior next yr.

Definitely a great day for everyone involved!! A HUGE thank you to the 50+ volunteers who gave up their time to help make this event a huge success!

Some fun/interesting facts --
Best weather day by far for sure! I recall the first year this event was held on a Friday night and it rained the entire night!
914 athletes competed in at least one event so that by itself is pretty amazing!
Well over 1,000 fans in attendance!
Well over 600 hamburgers sold! Very important! ... :)
28 schools competed representing 55 teams.
Well over 200 programs sold.
Nearly 100 Rocky Brands tee shirts sold.
Nearly 300 Kona Ice cups sold!
Full results are posted on baumspage http://www.baumspage.com/track/nelsonvi ... esults.htm

Contracts for next year's event have already been sent to schools who competed this year so planning is already underway for the 13th Annual Rocky Brands Track & Field Invitational!

noreply...You should have stopped by the finish line to say hello and to check out the van.

I was going to but the coaches were having their meeting. Whoever thought about using the van had a great idea. Hope maybe someone will do that at Logan. When I arrived in the parking lot I knew it was going to be a lot of people there. First time I had to park that far away. I even mentioned it to the girls at the ticket tent about never seeing it that crowed. Some people just come to eat. lol. Noticed a few people eating the whole time they were there.

22 and 3.25” in the long jump for the kid from FC, wow! Paper said that broke the Rocky record.
