Caldwell looked good at sect., Hesson, Schenkal, Border, Border, should place. I'd bet that Abbott doesn't ever get spladeled again.

Belpre wrestled well at sect., all six have a shot if they don't lose focus.

I'm aware, that cald. isn't tvc, but thought it was worth mentioning. Good luck to all area wrestlers at dist.

103

Tyler Reed, pending huge upset, has finals placement. He and the 2nd best 103 are both on the top bracket, setting up a good semifinals match. Look for him to get no less than 4th and as the best chance for a SE/E wrestler to get to Columbus.

Reed 1st-4th

112

Sorry, no wrestlers here will make it to Columbus.

119

Graves shot himself in the foot, setting up a quarter finals match with Householder that will probably force him to go through 3 rounds of Consos just to place. Border has a lot of momentum after picking apart Graves last week, but he too will run into buzzsaw in Shepard. Graves and Border has the best shots to place, maybe even go to state- but would have to both do it working through consolations.

Border 3rd-6th
Graves 4th-6th

125

Hook should place here, but it looks like he will have to go through several tough wrestlers to do so. Hook will have a tough Neer in the 2nd round, then face a very tough match in Gualtieri. That should be a great match if it happens.

Hook 3rd-6th

130

Morgan has the best chance on placement here. If he wrestles as good as he is capable, Allen won't be a problem. But then he is set up to wrestle Canter, a wrestler he has already lost to. Look for him to place again, maybe even make it to Columbus.

Morgan 3rd-6th

135

Jones has been overlooked by many people across the state, look for him to show off his skills this weekend. He has a pretty good draw and will face a very good wrestler in Cooperider in the semis. An outside shot on placement would be Shonkwiler, though Jones distanced himself from him this past weekend pretty convincingly.

Jones 1st-4th

140

Cooper will have to wrestle lights out if he is wanting to get to Columbus. He first two matches shouldn't be taken lightly, and if he can make it past those wrestlers, he will have to wrestle the match of his life against McDaniel or Reisz. Cooper has the best chance at this weight from this sectional on placement.

Cooper 4th-6th

145

Border and Norway are both capable of placement, but Border is probably the best bet with past experience. Border faces a tough draw with Kosky, who has wrestled at 152 for some of the year, in the quarterfinals, and Norway has a Martin right off the bat. Look for major upsets needed to happen to see one of these two make it to state.

Border 3rd-6th
Norway 4th-6th

152

I don't see anyone going to state, but Jackson has a good draw with 2 "winnable" matches. But, too much talent here for him to advance.

Jackson 5th-6th

160

This weight class is loaded and it won't be an easy task for the sectional's finalists to make it to state. Packard has the best chance, mostly due to being the better wrestler, but also getting a much better seed. He will face returning state champ Wilson in the Semis, someone who might be too much for him, maybe. Norway will have Skoff in the 2nd round, a wrestler who has been beaten by wrestlers from this sectional before. But Norway will need a huge upset over him if he wants to advance to Columbus. Look for these two wrestlers to have serious chances on placing and making it to state.

Packard 3rd-5th
Norway 4th-6th

171

Lockard and Walker has placement potential, but both will have very tough matches in the quarterfinals. Look for low placement if any at all.

Walker 4th-6th
Lockard 5th-6th

189

Starr absolutely destroyed everybody in NY, not allowing a point while tech falling all his opponents. If he can keep up this momentum, I don't see why he won't be in Columbus in a couple weeks. He will have huge tests in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, but has a chance to make it to the finals. If that is the case, I don't see him locking up 1st over Bowers.

Starr 2nd-5th

215

Waderker will have to continue to wrestle like he has been if he wants to place- at state. Waderker has been as consistent and successful as any 3rd year wrestler I have seen. He will have a big test in the 2nd round, but lucked out with a better pairing in the semis. There are plenty of places he could finish in this district, but none lower than 4th. If Schenkel can keep his matches close, he might be able to work his way through consos into placement.

Waderker 1st-4th
Schenkel 5th-6th

275

Hesson's move from 215 puzzled a lot of people, but another win by Waderker would of forced him to face two number one seeds. A smart move that should prove successful, Hesson will be able to out wrestle and out hustle many of the bigger wrestlers. Budde and him will have a good match, but Hesson has put himself in position to place in the top four pending a huge upset.

Hesson 1st-4th

Top teams to represent district (possible placers)

Caldwell ( 4 )
Belpre ( 4 )
Waterford ( 2 )
Nelsonville ( 3 )

Possible # of Finalists from this sectional:

103
135
189
215
275

Boyd??? he struggled to get to the finals of the sectionals he nearly lost to the Wellston kid and then only beat Cory Smathers trimble 4-1 before defaulting in the finals. If anything Zach Hook Tech Falled Smathers 2 times pinned him and beat him 17-10 all this year. I am not saying Hook will make it out either but the top 4 at 125 looks like Pope, Coulter, Neer and Gualiterri. Boyd did get a nice draw and could get to the semis if he is healty. You did a nice job with your predictions.
