No the junior high golf coach is now the high school coach.

Joe Matheny has retired after 34 illustrious years as the Marietta golf coach. He is currently the President of the Ohio High School Golf Coaches' Association and he is in that organization's Hall of Fame.

Marietta, which won the East Central Ohio League Golf Championship in each of its two years in the league, will field a very strong team in 2012. Hammons, Matheney, Thieman, and Bertram will more than make up for the loss of Seth Vannoy to St. Clairsville. St. Clairsville, by the way, finished 8th in the State in Division II in 2011 and only graduated one player. They will certainly make another run again this season.
