He would be a good candidate though.

What subjects at MHS will be open next year?

There are no retirees at this point, so probably none, with the exception of Coach Schob's Intervention Specialist (Science Highly Qualified) position.

With Marietta's budget cuts and the fact that there appears to be no openings, my best guess is that their next coach will be one of coach Schob's assts.

Best of luck to whomever gets the job.

I say you should start looking at the peewee league for a coaching prospect. If you can't find one there, check the local car dealerships. A good used car salesman might make a good coach? Other schools in your area have taken the above route, so why not Marietta?

Heard from a friend of mine from Parkersburg that Craig Farnsworth that applied for the job at PHS may be interested in the Marietta job, could be a good fit.

Marietta football is a mystery to me and many others....so much talent...little results. I hope someone comes in there and turns things around.

There will be an English opening next year due to a retirement of Unroe. Stay tuned

I understand that Farnsworth's wife has a good job in the area and he wouldn't necessarily need a teaching position. Marietta has many more problems than finding a coach though. No money and can't pass a levy.

Must be nice. "What is your role around the house sir? I mow the grass, wash the car, and coach football; but not in that order. My wife makes all the money." What does a varsity football coach clear? Five or six grand. Someone has their priorities waaaay out of whack.

I have heard two names Burchfield of Columbus Hartley and Devol of Caldwell/Warren. Looks like it will be one of those two based on my information.
