No....The saying is "It's just Ashland" nothing demeaning to them , just a little inside joke among players and fans of Ironton football, and you obviously are not on e of those. That shows how much you really know to make a comment like that. Ashland has always been a good program.

Hey thanks Turkey. Wow this has been such an even contest over the years it should become a Southern Ohio staple game every year. It looks like unless fortunes turn quickly for the CAVS Ironton should be able to take control of the series over the next couple of years. I wonder how long Coach Lutz and Coach Hinton will keep coaching? It could stay fairly even after Ironton dominates the next couple of years.

There is a simple way to measure the strength of Ironton's schedule. It is called PLAYOFF points. I am going to really stretch here and go way way out on a limb, but I am going to guess that Ironton wins at least 7 games and those 7 opponents generate enough points for Ironton to make the playoffs. Weak schedule, I say NOT.

I can remember years when Ironton had enough playoff points to make the D1 playoffs.

for the record, i've never said, it's just ashland. this has been a war for many decades. ironton had like a 19 game win streak till last year, but the tomcats appear to be loaded up again.

Ironton should win this game but it is high school football so anything goes.
As for Ashland let's get chili out of the way before we start climbing that hill.

I must be out of touch. I saw in the paper where the new coach at Chilli came from Amanda Clear Creek. Just from that fact alone, I don't think you can count the Cavs out of this game or any other. Go Tigers!

The CAVS have played 4 out of 8 quarters so far this year. They were better than their opponents during those 4 quarters. The CAVS put 4 quarters in 1 game together and they will be tough to beat. I'm sure coach Hinton is doing every thing he can to get Chilli going down there, but it seems to be a tall task currently. Ironton could finish with a blow out win if the CAVS choose not to play 4 quarters this week. I still love this game with 2 legendary coaches. I hope it continues for many years to come. Be safe Ironton fans! :-D

good solid effort out of the fighting tigers, kinda fell asleep at the wheel in the 3rd quarter, but got back to smashmouth football, and kept the cavs to 2 field goals, chill has a great kicker. but were just muscled around by the fighting tigers pretty bad.
