Who did you see Johnstown play ?
I’ve seen 3 of their games Newark Licking Valley, Newark Catholic and Oak Hill. They are a pretty vanilla offense, but are efficient at what they do. Both the QB and RB #5 are quick and they also like to get #11 and #42 involved at times. The FB #40 is a hard runner and they like to feed him up he middle form time to time. I think they lack a lot in their pass coverage leaving the seams and flats open frequently.

They key to stop the run on defense, but LV passed on them anytime they wanted. They do remind me of Burg a little on defense how they fly to the ball, but some defenders seem to have problems with missed tackles. I think they will have trouble with a decent passing game and are able to be ran on off tackle, they seem to plug the A & B gaps well. I do think that West will have success passing if the QB can make the correct reads and limit turnovers, the WR’s need to help him buy running crisp routes and get open when he’s in trouble. I also like Hurd's ability to run off tackle/outside with great success.

Defensively West will have to play fundamentally sound and have great discipline reading keys on the option and getting to the ball quickly. They seem to run the option well and it looked to me that you can shake up the QB when hit hard, I would hit him every chance you get. I also noticed that on their I formation runs between the tackles a quick backside DE can crash down the line and make the play about every time in the backfield, it seems to develop slowly.

Also, I bet in all 3 games combined I didn’t see but a handful of pass attempts and when they did the QB was looking to run quick. IMO the corners need to worry more about run support than pass coverage, so this means playing no more than 3-4 yards off the receiver and having great discipline as well as the Linebackers and Defensive ends. I would like the safety to play aggressively down hill with the little threat of the pass. Every roll out pass only has two receivers on routes, IMO no reason not to play down hill.

IMO West will be in a dog fight all night long, but what else do you expect at this point of the season...? It’s week #12!
I hope the West staff can get a good game plan together and the players play to their abilities and have great restraint/discipline and have 0 turnovers, If this happens I see them coming out victorious, but if they don’t it will be a long night.

Looking forward to Friday. JM is a very good team as is West. All the teams going forward are good. You have to play well and have a little luck to advance. IMO this team is playing with house money because they've played at or above their talent level basically all season. There are things they do well, things they don't. So far the players and the coaches have done a great job of playing to the strengths which is tough defense and ball control, and hiding the biggest deficiency which is team speed especially after loosing Berry and McNeil before that. Speed effects everything you do on both sides of the ball. Hopefully West can keep JM honest on the peremetor enough to open up the inside. Control the ball, the clock, and the game.

I dont think west will have a problem moving the ball, they have moved the ball all year. They HAVEN'T been able to execute when they get inside the 40. So this game west has to execute and play good D I think west can come out on top. Also Cassidy from west can help get some points.
17-7 24-14 something like that.. but GOODLUCK WEST!!

Yes we will see Friday
I think that if west's O-line can hold their ground and give the qb time they'll be able to pull away. From what I've seen from Jtown is that they're a run defense and run offense, this game will depend on if west can have a good passing game.

I think west will pull away if their coaches run plays to set up other plays I've noticed lately that they've just been running the same plays over and over again. The game Friday should have been 28-6 west with all the redzone 3 and outs they had it was terrible. They have the talent and speed that you need to beat this team. Their coach was a coach at liberty union before west so he know's this team decently. I think west will pull away in the 2nd half as they've done all season. West 28-Jtown14...Goodluck to both teams!

They're not a good passing team from what I've seen. I don't think they'll be able to cover staggs he'll be a threat all game.

Don't know a whole lot about Johnstown, besides they have a pretty good program. That aside, Burg is by far the best team in this Region. West played them hard, and they still beat them by the margin that they did. I'll eat crow if it happens, but their is no way I see a 28 point win. West way too tough and physical, with a good run defense to give up that I think. Unless they can exploit us with the pass. That's the only way I could see a score like that.

If west doesn't turn the ball over and the line backers fill the holes as they're supposed to. I can't say it enough west is a physical mean team with a nose for the football. They play with a chip on their shoulder and pass the ball good they should win. Stop the run it's over for Jtown.

I cant see anyone running on this west team for a whole 4 quarters.. JM will get yards here and there, And has stated before we have already faced the best front 7 in this region and did fine with the run it was the pass that hurt us by burg and for that matter we was,nt the only team to be hurt by burgs passing every team they have played has fell prey to it..................They have WAY too many weapons to cover stop 1 and the other 6 or 7 hurt you........my 2 cents worth is west takes this game by one T.D. or less and sets up a rematch with burg.....Dont get mad im a born and breed sider/senator.............depending what you want to call them......but also a realist sometimes you are just outmaned. But if both win we will atleast have a S.O.C. team at the state final 4.

Look I’m a realist and even though I’m pulling for West to win, realistically I don’t see them beating the Johnnies.
Just like with us I think they are just over matched. I don’t think that they will be able to move the ball against their defense, leaving them to make plays through the air in which they make too many mistakes causing costly turnovers. I also don’t think that they have the discipline on defense to play well enough against their potent running attack. I really hope I’m wrong, but that doesn’t happen often. ;)
