Yes agree but I think irontons physicallity will be an issue for Burg. That’s how I would attack burg anyways . Slam those big backs up in there then let Salyers pull it and go.
What you mention is also a possibility. I am anxious to see how Ironton's defense responds if Wheelersburg comes out with the fast-paced offense that we have grown accustomed to seeing from the Pirates the past few seasons.
Using tempo w a green Qb increases probability of penalties and turnovers.
Tempo worked out pretty well for the Pirates in 2017. I would think you would have to consider Trent Salyers "green" since he was a first year starter at QB in 2017.

You are correct. I’m not sure I’d call three of the four “green”.
Ahhh I see. But you would call a div 5 team made up around 70 or so boys 4 deep at the qb position? Lol.
You're cappin. 😂
Don't most schools have a kid in each grade that could possibly play QB? What do the mighty tigers do when the JV and freshman team play? Does the varsity starter have to play then as well?

It did, however, as stated per above: the dynamic has changed.

Can play is an interesting context. Depth however is another. When considering depth it would suggest a consistency in experience and capability.

The QB position is very vital in burgs complex offense. 3 of the 4 playing for the position have played that position in the lower levels.
Complex? 😂😂 #Stop #HeGotJokes lol.
You’re probably good at madden

You probably perceive that you are good at a lot of things. Attempts at snark on a message board probably isn't one of them. 😉

Think he’ll be motivated to beat burg ?
I would think so. In two games against the Pirates, Salyers is 13 - 29 passing for 116 yards with 1 TD and 4 INTs. The Pirates came out on top in both games as well.
Why would they try to pass at all? My guess they will hand it to carrico about 90% of all plays

For Burg, let's hope so because if they do that kid will be flat wore out going into the 4th qtr. Run the ball 90% of the time plus playing LB on every down will take its toll.

Everybody harping about Burg not having a QB. May stepped in and led them to the regionals. Davis stepped in and led them to the state semis. Salyers stepped in and led them to a state title. I think Burg will be okay at QB this season. If they do have 4 options that is great. Most teams going in are happy to have 2 potential QB's

Very good point. Over the past few seasons, the Pirates have had some new faces at QB and the offense has generally operated in the same way each season. Sure, it hurts losing a player like Salyers. Trent was a natural leader, and as tough as they come. But, Wheelersburg does a phenomenal job at preparing the next man up to step into a role with minimal learning difficulties.

XandO72, one minute you speak like you're an intellectual by your vocabulary, then, in the next post you use slang words that no one knows the meaning of. Why not pick a personality and stick to it because most of all, you come across as confusing.

Thanks Bobbbbbb, I was honestly asking what "cappin'" meant. I didn't know. Instead I got a smart answer from that person. I don't know how to take him.

I haven't made it up to watch practice yet, but what I've heard of him from Jr High, the kids a stud. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the go to guy.

Not the Freshman, he's been getting reps but there is another that has gotten some reps over the past couple practices. Anxious to see how that works out.

I think they are experimenting with a lineman. Apparently he can throw it over a mountain. First name is Rico.
