We can say a million reasons why and why not this game should be played. But none of it matters cause of now it won’t be played again for sometime.
Maybe it should be played as the Jamboree game.

Possibility. But wellston wanted out of this football series. In a bad way. Understand. But thought the gate sales would help keep them in it. Understand as well they Will get a decent gate from an Oak Hill series. But Oak Hill will not bring the folks the Fighting Ironmen do. So NO.
The gate of an Oak hill/Wellston game will be nothing like that of a Jackson/Wellston. IMO if Jackson is not good enough for wellston for a football series than Jackson is not good enough for wellston in any sports. That is by no means a dig or insult to wellston by any means. If you don’t want the Ironmen in football. Scratch the Ironmen off your list in all sports.

I just happened to see Coach Hall at a car show Sunday afternoon at Jackson High School, and asked him that exact question. He just smiled and said everything was going very well.

Ironmen get a tune up with opposite colors Friday at Portsmouth West. A lot of opinions on scrimmages on here. It's a test and tune for sure. Who will win their battles? Who sets an example as leaders? It's a lot easier to bang on underclassmen during camp but who will show up in the main event? Coaches only have 2 scrimmages to make those decisions. Scrimmages are very important for the guys holding positions to keep them, and for the guys working for those spots to earn them! Hoping for great competition and 2 injury free scrimmages for the Ironmen and their opponents!

It is a scrimmage but I don't think we'll know exactly what Jackson has coming out of this one. I think West will be down this year and Jackson is one of my teams I have predicted 10-0. I look for them to put it all over west even if it is just a scrimmage. Believe they take on Ironton next week in a scrimmage, is that correct?? We'll know a little more then in terms of how physical both teams will be. These scrimmages coaches just want to see good execution and improvement and most importantly everyone to come out of them healthy and ready for week 1.

West may be down some in their skilled area but they have a big strong line . I’ve watched 2 scrimmages this year where the score was 7-7 and I felt one team dominated the thing. West is still in the upper half of the area programs . I wouldn’t put much stock in these scrimmages . Will be good to shake some rust off and west and ironton will for sure help prepare Jackson for Wellston Athens and Logan .

Looked good for what they showed. The prater boy sure has evolved into a nice weapon for the Ironmen in the last year. Kids only a sophomore many more years to get even better. As expected. Little to anything was shown. Time to watch tape. Get better and onto the next one.

Defense looked pretty stout and seemed to be more attacking this year . Typical stuff on offense . A few missed blocks resulting in sacks . Some key drops , just timing things. Ice made some real nice throws. West was big and stout up front so was good for the line to bang heads with them. No injuries. Go back to work and try and improve against ironton.

Defense did look real good. IMO it was a combination of the OLs and not getting rid of the ball quicker that caused those sacks. 4 seconds is a long time for a HS line to hold up. Spires boys played good on defense. Prater is the real deal. ILBs had some issues at times but overall played well. Offense needs to get better. Liked the screens to Winters.
