First of all what a great venue to watch a game, you guys had a lot of things going on pregame and your band at halftime puts on a great show and was cool having our kids play with yours for a bit.

Burg community been treated to something special for a long time, now time for us to circle the wagons, keep positive, re-align some goals try and win out and focus on winning the league. We will have some good games coming up with Minford and Waverly for sure and Burg kids and staff will need to keep after it, this year is different but keep working and payoff will come.

Congrats to Jackson played very solid fundamental football won every aspect of the game plain and simple. The kid with the one hand interception snatch and run to the end zone was just a great play. I thought you guys were running a wildcat with the big #7 kid and then he threw a pass for a TD that was called back, someone looked at program and said he was a freshman back-up QB, so 3 more years of him? Good luck hope you run the table and get a home play-off game and win.

Wouldn’t expect nothing less Than a classier post from you. Thanks for the kind words. And I did say that about our stadium after the game last night on this thread. There’s not a nicer one around to watch a game. Burg will be fine. Your program is at the level of people expect you guys go to 15-0 every year. Ooo those years sooo hard to accomplish year in and year out which makes the reason they are sooo special. Class act of Andy hall subbing his JV in and taking knees. The mutual respect between these programs and fans have been displayed all week. Wish nothing but the best for tha burg here on out. Good luck.

#6 was a one man show for Wheelersburg last night. Surprised Wheelersburg didn't make any adjustments on defense even when Jackson went to an unbalanced line they still did nothing. I think the only thing that look worse than Wheelersburg's defense was the size of there crowd. Previous years you couldn't find a seat and last night they only took up 2/3's of the stands. Ship is taking on water fast!

No one has stepped up to take the reins. Jackson is no better than Ashland and they moved the ball up and down the field against them. Could be 4-6 if they don't start playing like they did against Ashland every Friday for the rest of the season.

Don’t take shots at Jackson man. Jackson could’ve been waking won 42-2 .
Jackson is a very good team, but they aren't any better than Ashland. Ashland had two big powerful backs and a running QB and the Burg survived that one. They need to find a leader on the field and they need to get the desire to win. After the fumbled KO and the stop on 4th and 2 that gave Jackson a quick and easy 14-0 lead they looked like they were just going through the motions. No dig on Jackson.

Man,,pump the brakes Regulator..Jackson has something special this year. Evidenced by last nights performance. The Ironmen played great in all three phases of the game. The O-line has matured a mile from the first outing. Burg is young and building,,,cant' win the State every year but even great programs like Burg has building years...this is one of them. All the best the rest of the year.

Well it’s saturday morning. And after some reflection I have to say the sun came up. Jackson is very good and wheelersburg is also a team that while they are maybe not what they have been in years past are still a good football team that has talent and does have good coaching. At the beginning of the year all burg fans knew the first five games would be a murders row for a young inexperienced team and that exactly what it was. But I am ok with 2-3. Not happy. But it still could be worse. We beat a better than expected Greenup team and a good Ashland team. The future is still there to go this week and beat a good Minford team who is #1 in the region and put us right back where we are accustomed to being. Need to have a good week of practice. We are healthy coming into the final 5 weeks. So let’s go win a soc title and secure a first round home game and let the chips fall where they will. Let’s go burg.

19 seniors isn't young and rebuilding. The entire line except for Richardson are seniors with no underclassmen seeing much action on the line until the last few minutes of the game isn't rebuilding. This one of the biggest senior classes they have had for a while.

Good post. I still think that Burg will win out in the rest of there games. They still have a lot of talent, mayby not as dominate as in past years, but still pretty good. After those first two scores, I think they were sort of in shock the rest of the first half. When Jackson then returned the 2nd half kickoff to midfield, then the freshman QB then went about 50 yards the next play for a touchdown, that more or less set the tone for the rest of the game. Mathews is still a threat every time he touches the ball, you have to give Jacksons defense a lot of credit, as they were able to somewhat contain him last night. Still lots of football to be played this year. Good luck to both teams the rest of the year.

Jackson has already had 4 different backs go over 100 yards in a game. We also didn’t turn the ball over unlike Ashland.

Isn’t it great when you have to defend your team even after a big win? Lol

Jackson is a lot like Ashland. Ashland might be a little quicker. If burg was going to win this, they’d had to play mistake free. Three turnovers that led to points. The last one we won’t count with jv qb but the first two hurt. Take away 14 points and you have a ball game. Jackson is a solid team. Played well.

Eh, just defending our backs. Graham has been a beast with 5 TD and having a great year, turned his ankle bad early. Johnson 9 yards a carry on the season only hit a handful. Parks had 2 100 yards games last year didn’t get many touches. Spires over 500 yards, Winters averaging 10 yards a carry. Ice had 100 yard game last year.

Best receiver is out and he’s very good. Davis never got a look as he was blocking all night.

Don’t get me wrong they have a lot of seniors but not all are contributing. Their playmakers have not been 100% since day 1. Basically One of their seniors is playing with all heart right now as he’s still banged up. Just got one back this week. Makaya still not fully 100%. It’s been a strange season for them so far. Having to rely on other younger players. The junior and sophomore class doesn’t have that many numbers but I’d say 7 to 10 juniors and sophomores are contributing a lot.

Most don’t know the ends and outs of the team, But trust me burg has had a difficult first part of the season with different things that they’ve had to deal with.

Well you beat Ashland and was hammered by Jackson . So either Jackson is better or burg has gave up. The stripes were very generous or it was a 42-8 game. Wheelersburg scored over 30 on Ashland and really didn’t nothing against Jackson . Def should’ve been a running clock. No dig on Burg though.

Jackson had 3 drives stopped only by the referees . They must clean that up. Jackson can’t keep taking points off the board. Curious how many rushing yards burg had. Going into the game Jackson had given up 106 yards on 100 carries .
