Vinton County Football Vikings 2020

Post by Rusty Shackleford »

8/28/2020 @ Unioto
9/4/2020 Crooksville
9/11/2020 Trimble
9/18/2020 Meigs
9/25/2020 @ Athens
10/2/2020 Alexander
10/9/2020 @ Warren
10/16/2020 @ River Valley
10/23/2020 Nelsonville-York
10/30/2020 @ Wellston

How will the Vikings do this year? It seems like they improved last year a good bit with the new coach. Schedule has a little bit different look this year with Crooksville, Trimble, and Warren added. Last season finished 5-5 but unlike other seasons in the last 10-15 years they were in a lot of the games and weren’t blown out 6-7 even 8 times a year. I’d really like to see the Vikings improve and make a run at TVC, but not sure how many players graduated or anything.

I know what's wrong with it. It's a Ford. You know what they say Ford stands for, don't ya? It stands for 'Fix it again, Tony'.

would like to see VC have a good year as much as the vikings have been successful with basketball in the past 20 years deep down its still a football town at heart. would love to see them have a good season and make a run.

Their quarterback will be a sophomore. I think they could continue to be good and improve

Travis Bethel and crew will only get this program better. No doubt about it.

Don’t be suprised if week 10 in the very near future between the Vikings and Rockets decide the champ of the TVC.

They are losing a TON of contributing seniors, but still have a lot of key players left from last year. Lost some absolute heart breakers last year. Just a few plays away from having a much different season. Hopefully the guys coming up can fill in for the seniors that are graduating.

He will be a junior. They are losing both of their RBs from last year, so I'm wondering if they will spread their offense out a little more this year. Were VERY run heavy last year.

Expecting this team to be competitive in most games this year. Not sure about their skill though but always a tough win

Adding Trimble, Warren and Crooksville is not exactly a step up for the Vikings. Crooksville is the doormat of the MVL and needs to get out of that league. Trimble graduated everyone and has very little hope and Warren hasn’t been good since Ronald Raegan was in office. Looks like a desperate stab at padding the schedule to me.

I disagree about taking a step back. Warren is division 3 if I’m not mistaken and has gotten much better. Trimble is always a power and will win at least 8-9 games. I seriously doubt when Vc was talking about setting up a contract a year or two ago that they knew Trimble was losing a lot. Also, were talking about Vc, who hasn’t had an above .500 in who knows how long. Any win is a good win for Vc football and Warren and Trimble are great pick ups for play off points imo.

Warren will have to change the year after. They do the count every two years.
