HumbleAndHungry wrote: Sat Nov 12, 2022 8:47 pm Prep didn’t play it’s best last night. 2 costly turnovers that quickly equaled 14 points and a handful of penalties put them behind schedule on a couple red zone scoring threats. Other than that Burg didn’t really have much going on it was 13-0 Prep out the gate. Once again Coach Smith and his staff made the adjustments at halftime and Burg didn’t score again. To overcome 5 turnovers by causing a few themselves and still beat a quality team says a lot about Prep. They will be ready for Ironton. I’m not sure if Ironton has seen anything remotely close to this prep team this year, still going thru film, however Prep is battle tested and have seen teams similar to Ironton. Don’t get me wrong Ironton has some great size and strength but Prep has speed and strength. B.I.G don’t spell BAD. Can’t wait for this one #PrepProud

Sounds like you believe HP is faster than Ironton. Is that accurate? Which team do you think is more athletic?
Both teams are very athletic across the board. I’ve watched a few games on YouTube but can’t find the ones I really want to see. Best game I could find was against GA and it was a great game but I want to see the Burg game and the Jackson game. I know it was early in the season but I know what Burg has and I’m sure both teams have gotten better but Ironton only scored 12 points on a week one Burg team HP had 13 points in the first qtr. and with out self inflicted turnovers that game could have gotten real ugly and I know the transitive property doesn’t work in football but that’s why I want to see that particular game. Qb play is the difference in this ball game imo. Both QBs are STUDS and can make all the throws on the field but the ability for HPs QB to take off for a 75 yard rushing TD or ability to throw a 75 yarder is definitely something I’m not sure Ironton has seen this year. Ultimately the turn over game WILL decide the winner of this game. I’m also eager to see Irontons Lbs in pass coverage. They play downhill super fast on runs and fill gaps quickly which is great but I think HP will neutralize that to a certain extent by making them play in space in the pass game. These are two great teams that everyone is excited to see play! I could go in forever bout this one 😂

IRONically, the games you want to see are not very good representation of the Fighting Tigers that take the fiekd now.

The development of skilled positions and multiple offensive plays/ers have also developed & fought for a spot to shine on both sides of the ball.

Not the Tigers of two years ago. Much deeper, faster, & better Defense, IMO.

Sadly the Ironton band was still late. But they sounded good when they finally got there.
Their band director is late to everything. Drives me up a wall. Didn’t used to be like that with Sanders. New director has been a major disappointment. May have not marched much but you can bet Sanders would usually show up on time and actually play a lot.
I would strongly dissagree with you. The band sounds much better since the new band director than anytime I have known. You can actually make out what they are playing now... lol
I would not agree with you on that. They even messed up the national anthem last year and had to restart it.

I’ve seen the game Friday. I like 5 and 3 on Offense and the defense won’t survive if theY play like theY did this past Friday. IMO

Nice lil 30 min trip 😂
Sadly the Ironton band was still late. But they sounded good when they finally got there.
The band was late due to the host school not saving a place for the busses to park. 😳

How many times has Ironton been to Portsmouth?? 😂

The same reserved parking for them is ALWAYS at the back gate where they just step off the bus , or the lot across the street from the front entrance. The Ironton people are saying they are always late don't show up 30 minutes for a game you know is going to be crowded

That’s a pointless game to watch IMO, That was not the same Fairland team that played West Muskingum. Fairland had the QB and multiple key positions out the last half of the season.

Waverly will be a great host:

There are two entrances to the main parking lot, actually three.
Second Street, Clough Street off of 23 and the entrance furthest to the north off of Rt 335.

Coming 23 south into Waverly you may want to turn at Bob Evans (Morningside Drive) to take you over the art 335 and enter the parking lot there.
Coming from the south on 23 you can go to the traffic light at Super Quick which is Clough Street or trim at any side street before there (High or East) and come up Second Street.

There is additional street parking as well as the government building parking lot across the street.

Waverly has two concession stands (Band Boosters on the visitors side and Athletic Boosters on the home side) as well as the famous Brat Tent.

Not really I’m watching Irontons tendencies and they some how don’t get labeled undisciplined when they have penalties and turns overs. You can’t say HP is undisciplined and that’s gonna be the difference in the game and film shows your team doing the same things. We both gotta be undisciplined in that case….

Its @ Waverly.

I bet some W'burg fans heads are going to explode with Ohsaa's choice of venue.

Yes Waverly is where Burg played HP last year for the regional championship they have plenty of parking good concession stand food and plenty of seating and it's an easy drive for both teams. Waverly is where I thought it should be all along and the Burg game against HP this year should have been there also instead of nelsonville but good luck to Ironton and to HP for an injury free game I hope its a good game cause I think I might go to this one

I like the parking situation at Waverly. Home side is nice, visitors side is a little small but most are. I went there for the Gallia playoff game a few years back and got out pretty easy.

Waverly is the perfect spot for this game in all honesty. Harvest Prep will literally have like 10 fans at the game. Really it seems like only the kids team parents that show up. So Ironton will actually be able to take over both sides of the stadium.

Its sad that some of you equate the amount of fans we have has anything to do with how much we love our kids and coaches. HP has only had a football team since 1998 and had never made the playoffs until 9 years ago when Our current head coach was hired. Coach Smith has led every singe one of his teams to the playoffs way before just about everyone made it in regardless of your record like it is now. We are not a small town school that has the backing of Generations that played and graduated like you all do. Hopefully one day it will be that way but at any rate Keep making all the little jokes you want but it will never change our warrior pride! Oh by the way we had more than 10 team parents on a wet chilly night in NY. We know SEO will be there cheering for Ironton and that’s awesome and I hope the atmosphere is electric! Many have been looking forward to this match up, Hell I was kinda bummed we didn’t get a shot at Ironton last year TBH but Burg gave us a great game! I know we’re new to D5 and region 19 but we respect SEO and the brand of ball yawl have down there! Good luck Tigers and Go Warriors! #PrepProud
