Totally agree. There's just one problem.....they already have a HC that isnt going anywhere until he decides to do so, because thats just the way things work these days in Minford.

 WTF kinda of statement is this?!?!? It's a poor excuse at best. So you think if Minford installed turf they'd be SOCII Champs? 10-15 yrs ago when Minford was getting 65-75 boys out for the team, competing for the SOCII crown, turf had nothing to do with the attitude and culture out there. The ground crews out in Falcon Land keep that field in tip-top shape and it's one best natural turf fields in the entire state. How many boys are on the 2023 fall football roster?

The problem in Minford is what a few on here have touched on, and it's not the turf.
As you already know, the winning culture that was in place before the downward spiral was undermined through little deals right off the bat. It didnt take long for the culture that was in place to deteriorate.

At the end of the day we can say "Its just high school football". But Minford has good athletes who care and want to win and they definitely have some coaches that care and want to win. It just doesnt happen easily in these types of environments unless an absolute class or two of studs come through the school system.

Sounds like a lotta whiny point the finger at the hack coach/terrible administrative moves/the play calling/the grass/the bus/the price of eggs/etc..... lol. And i have zero idea about the situation... but I do know that finger pointing/blaming/poop talkin about the coach or teacher is the number one culture killer that exists... a ton of parents never give their kids a chance to get better or to buy in or to learn anything from coaches because mommy an daddy continually beat em down an tell their kids how so an so would be better here...or this play woulda worked there...or jus how dumb they are... that immediately cuts that coaches balls off. They check out.. why would they listen to a dummy. I know there's always circumstances and every little town is completely overflowing with vastly more competent, 20/20 hindsight, armchair coaches/managers/teachers.. but you'd do little Johnny a real favor by letting coaches coach..teachers teach an bosses boss. Sorry for the rant..but all the complaining gets old

Best post and most accurate post Ive read here. LOL Go to Wheelersburg and Ironton threads it unreal of all this happening. They act like these kids are playing pros or college. Its just shameful in my eyes. The Head Coachs has no chance at every call they make during the game, putting players here, why did you run that play, worst offense in 30 years, its really why things are the way they are in my eyes. These are high school kids, Good Luck Minford!

If you know, you know.

Minford fans have put up with this for years now. We are not asking to be Burg or Ironton. We are asking for a HC that does his job, in the season and offseason. The loss to Chesapeake with all we have returning is the STRAW that broke the camels back!! He’s been there long enough and the results and program numbers get worse every year. Sometimes, it is the HC. Please speak as to how the program has gotten better???

Right from Jason Vorhees:
Since the current head coach has held that position, Minford is 37-34, and 0-4 in the playoffs.

SOC2 breakdown:
Oak Hill: 4-3
Waverly: 0-7
West: 4-3
Burg: 0-8 (including playoff game)
Valley: 4-3
Total: 12-24

Worst non-conf schedule in D5. 7 years. Zero playoff wins. Give him 7 more years and see if anything changes.

This right here is probably one of the most accurate statements made. Minfords administration is ok with mediocrity despite the fact they've had some really nice athletes come through they've been mainly wasted in terms of football and winning ball games. Ruby has been blessed with a ton of talent and has squandered it at every turn, the defense has never improved the offense is very basic with very little variations, and from a OL stand point they've never developed the guys.
