Sadly, you nailed it.

That's why I suggested 14 teams as it would be a minimal change for the overall format (made 3rd round home games instead of neutral site to provide the 2 bye teams the opportunity to still host 2 games), but I don't know if OHSAA would be willing to give up the 1-16 and 2-15 1st round matchups.

They’re handing out trophies for making the playoffs, now?

"They" sure do "hear" a lot in seo but 99% of it always end up inaccurate or gossip. Wonder why that is? Lol

16 teams is ludicrous.

10 with a top 2 bye would be almost perfect. 14 with a top 4 bye would work as well imo. The expansion allows teams to schedule up without fear of not making the playoffs if they lose 3 or 4 games. It makes for a better regular season imo.

I agree with 8 being the ideal number but would have been ok with the original change to 12 with the top 4 receiving a bye. Maybe that would keep the 3-7 and 4-6 teams out

Nothing to do with being old--just some people don't believe in the generation of participation trophies.
Decide the games on the field not with computers.
I'm wondering if you feel any different now that your team's best running back broke his leg because he was playing a 4-6 "playoff" team?

Could have happened any game injuries happen.

You see that 15 seed Portsmouth beat Fairland?

Decide games on the field.

OHSAA needs these games to pay for the later games. The good teams don’t travel once it’s cold. Had a few bigger upsets this year

Toronto fans would’ve liked an 8 team playoff.

Go back to 8 teams, will never happen, OHSAA is making to much money the way it is now and charging $15 a ticket, ridiculous.

There was an upset in every region. Like I’ve been saying the schedules are not even. You can’t just use top 8 and get the best teams in each region. I love deciding the games on the field. I love that coaches can be more aggressive scheduling during the reg season.

Except, after ten weeks of games, nothing is decided.

What if they made it double elimination?

I stole this from Yappi. Seemed like every region had upsets
I know many of the top seeds won easily, but last night 1 out of 5 games were win by the higher seed (46-224 20.5%). This included 2 #15 seeds and multiple 13 & 14 seeds. While no #1 seeds lost, I believe this shows 16 teams are okay for the playoffs.
