I visited Curt for the 4th time last night....He was awake the whole time. He's starting to look like Curt again. I am not saying I'm glad this happened to Curt but he is one of the few toughest guys I know that could pull out of this. He was moved to a normal room and is out of the woods as far as his life. God answered prayers for him and the rest of us. He is one of the good guys in Gallia County. If you know Curt he has touched your life in some sort of way.(Always Positive) His Mother, Karen, is one of the best teachers in all of Ohio. She is hard-core but fair. These are the types of people that made my decision on where to enroll my children. I know my kids look up to Curt. My Son's best friend is related to Curt and he always says, "Man, I cant believe you are related to Curt Waugh."

We are doing a fund raiser just to help with cost of living, medical, and other things for these great people. This is going to be held May 10th at Taco Bell in Gallipolis. We will be having a bake sell and a car wash. Donations will be accepted. We will be doing a follow-up in the Newspaper for the people that donated. DragonCoach56 and myself went up to see Curt today. He was very alert and responsive to us. There is no doubt this young man is a fighter. PLEASE keep the prayers flowing for Curt. He seems to be progressing but it's going to be a long road to recovery. Mike and Karen are holding up but also request our prayers. The physical therapy nurses had him on his feet for a very brief time but any thing like that is a huge step toward his recovery. We even had him crack that little smirky smile at us. If you know him you know what I'm talking about. It's gonna be a long road but with everyone's prayers, love and support we'll get the old Curt back. God bless this family and everyone involved.

We had a fundraiser for Curt and his family. Prayers were answered because we had a break in the weather and a perfect day for a carwash. We had this event at Taco Bell in Gallipolis and were able to raise 1100.00 in a short 4 hour period. Thanks to all the helpers and contributors. I am positive Karen, Mike, Josh, Curt, and Jasmine all appreciate it........thanks again James Brace

Brutus is currently in the Dodd Rehab Facility located beside the OSU Medical Center. He is starting to pick up on things very quick. He is now walking good and is talking (Better than the dry erase board). But I think I remember him having a few words for you as well future.

I was there Saturday and we shot some free throws at the basketball court they have outside the facility. He is also eating and beleive me, we sat down and ate some pizza and he still has the apetite he used to have. And he is same old Brutus and loves playing XBOX. And you are right mtswngrvsg, doctors said his expected time to be home is May 22.

I would personally like to thank everyone for praying for Curt. Curt is one of my best friends, fishing partners and hunting partners and I give my deepest respect to the people on SEOP's that helped him pull through with this. He is definatley a fighter and to see him like he was after the surgery destroyed me. It really made me appreciate the times we spent together and I guess its like the old saying where you dont think anything could happen to you or your closest friend and everyone thinking they are invincible. So thanks to everyones prayers, they have been answered. The past three 3 1/2 weeks have been hard but to see Curt the way he is now is just a miracle and everyone in the SEOP's community has had a part in his recovery with prayers.
