My SEOAL rankings
Well, league play starts this week so I figured I'd drag these little threads back into the Seop's limelight.
1.Logan (3-0 0-0) 4 Straight SEOAL titles, 23 straight SEOAL wins, haven't lost a league game since October 1st, 2004. I don't see any changes in these streaks coming anytime soon.
2.Jackson (3-0 0-0) The last team to beat Logan and the only other undefeated team in the league so far. The competition so far hasn't been as tough as some other's in the league but Waverly and VC should provide some points down the road.
T3.Chillicothe (1-2 0-0) One quality win is nice, but they need to win consistently. The talent is always there, but the wins seem to come and go.
T3.Zanesville (1-2 0-0) Beat a suspect Newark team and then got beat 2 weeks in a row.
5.Ironton (2-1 0-0) 2-1 with a nice win over Gallia but they won't get much love for beating a mediocre Ashland squad this week.
6.Marietta (0-3 0-0) They've taken some lumps but they are right behind Logan and even or ahead of Chilly and Zanesville with the strength of their schedule, look for that to show the next few weeks.
7.Gallia Academy (2-1 0-0) Two close wins over bad schools, one big loss to Ironton and now the injury is biting again. Unfortunately I think it's going to be another rough year for one of the SEOAL's better programs.
8.Warren (2-1 0-0) They are showing the right way to exit the basement. They replaced Fort Frye with a slightly tougher Parkersburg South team and put a decent Meigs squad in as their bye week school. I look for them to start climbing out of the basement for good soon.
9.Portsmouth (1-2 0-0) Well, we knew it was going to be bad with all the Sophs and Juniors starting but it might be worse than first thought. The talent is there and they played better against a good Wheelersburg team but they still have been outscored 62-6 in the last two weeks and now face an undefeated Jackson squad.
This weeks games
#1 Logan vs #7 Gasllia Academy : I just can't see Gallia making a game of this, especially without Wandling. Logan should have a commanding lead by halftime.
#2 Jackson vs #9 Portsmouth : Portsmouth's defense might keep this close for 2 or 3 quarters like they have the last 2 weeks , but unless the offense can convert this big Jackson will wear them and score 35 or 40 points.
#3 Chillicothe @ #3 Zanesville : This one will break the tie for 3rd and maybe expose one of these teams. I will go with Chillicothe simply because Knights should be the biggest playmaker on the field.
#5 Ironton vs Ashland, Ky : Big gate and a good week to keep everyone healthy vs Logan.
#6 Marietta vs #8 Warren : The Warriors have won 2 close games and the Tigers are still looking for win #1. I think if Warren keeps it close they have a chance, but if it turns into a shootout Marietta will run away with it.

Right now I would say
Logan--they need a big showing against Ironton to show me they can win it all
Ironton--a win over Logan and they will take it
Chillicothe--too many games that they don't come to play
Jackson--this team with some breaks could win it
Zanesville--still too young -could fall on down the list
Marietta--if things fall in place they just might be third
Portsmouth--just think they are too young for this year
Warren---could finish as high as #5th
Gallipolis---only because of the injuries

Re: My SEOAL rankings
I honestly don't understand where people are coming from putting jackson in the top of this poll at all....a friend of mine saw the game between them and waverly and said that they could run the ball, but barely had the defense to hold a one man waverly team to comming back and beating them...
I don't see how anyone could see anyone but Ironton and Logan at the top
From there...I think chilli...zanesville..jackson....and everyone else from there...

Jackson has a lot of upperclassmen and they are one of two 3-0 teams in the SEOAL. Right now it's Logan and everybody else, so they're just as worthy of the #2 as anybody. By the way, They held Waverly to 20 points, they scored 54 and 35 points in their other 2 games.

Waverly did score alot of points...but when your competition could get smashed by Ironton's Canadian counterparts...doesn't say much about their offense...waverly played against Piketon who is 1-2 and they won 54-53 and against welston 0-3 and they won 35-21. Waverly lost everyone this year besides their wideout...who they moved this year to qb...He is the real deal...but hard to play with one person...they are rebuilding this year and nearly beat jackson...

I agree with most of your list but I really think I will have to go with Ironton as number 1 and Logan number 2... the winner of that game will no doubt be the champ. 2 storied programs is why they play in the SEOAL

Re: My SEOAL rankings
I would put Logan in as #1 and they will stay there the remainder of the year. Although some might not like to hear it, the Chieftains are clearly the class of the SEOAL........and will post another undefeated league record.
If someone happens to knock off LHS, it will be the upset of the year in the SEOAL. The team that has the best chance of knocking off the Chieftains......in my opinion, will be Chillicothe.......final game of the season, at CHS, the Cavaliers could use the giant computer points, senior night for Caleb Knights and teammates.......and Logan could already have a home playoff game wrapped up........if any game could see the Chieftains stumble and have their undefeated league record of 2 years snapped, it could be this one.
If Logan were to play at Ironton, the Fighting Tigers could very well pull off the upset, because the Chieftains only won 7-0 two years ago at the Tank. But since the game is at the new Logan stadium, I think LHS will be undefeated going into the Chillicothe game.
But I am still going with Logan to go 10-0 heading into the playoffs.

Was Ironton/Gallia Academy a league game? I just noticed Ironton would have 5 league games otherwise.

Re: My SEOAL rankings
I'LL TELL YOU HOW I SEE IT. LOGAN IS FOR ONCE DOING WHAT IT IS SUPPOSSED TO BE DOING TO BE A PREMIERE TEAM, IN THESE PARTS. THAT IS BEAT PEOPLE THERE OWN SIZE. WHICH TILL NOW HAS NOT BEEN HAPPENING. NO DISRESPECT INTENDED. IT'S JUST A FACT. NOW THE NEXT STEP FOR THEM, IS PROVING THEY CAN GET INTO A WEEK 12. THEY'LL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. BUT CAN THEY ADVANCE. I HOPE SO. FOR THE GOOD OF THE LEAGUE. HARD TO SAY AFTER THAT. IRONTON HAS BEEN DOMINANT EVERY SINCE THE SECOND HALF OF THE WHEELERSBURG GAME. AND I FRANKLY DON'T CARE WHAT ANYBODY SAYS , THAT CATCH AT WHEELERSBURG WAS BEING BOBBLED. I'VE SEEN SEVERAL VIEWS. AT ONCE I WAS CONVINCED IT WAS A CATCH. BUT THE LAST VIEW , I SAW IT WAS NOT A COMPLETION. BUT IT WAS A VERY TOUGH CALL. AND WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE. BUT THATS HOW CLOSE IRONTON IS TO BEING UNSCATHED.
AS FAR AS THE REST OF THE LEAGUE, JACKSON IS UNDEFEATED, AND SO IS LOGAN. WE WILL SEE WHO'S THE TOP DOG , AS WE PLAY THEM BOTH. WHOEVER COMES OUT ON TOP. AFTER THE DUST SETTLES WILL BE THE LEAGUE CHAMPION.

Re: My SEOAL rankings
Logan is 3 and 0 with two WINS over schools that are bigger than them. Still Logan mainly picks up players from their city of less than 7,000.

still see Ironton at #2 until next week--they could move up tp #1 or if they don't play good and loss they might fall behind Jackson and Chillicothe.

Re: My SEOAL rankings
as a logan fan, i see chilli as the team to get by for a league championship. not sure what playoff implications will be on the line at that time if any(playoff game, home field). this could be a trap game for logan. i see jackson lost tonight to portsmouth, i thought they might be better than that at 3-0.
