No one is going to touch Ursuline. I've watched quite a few of the top DI teams this year and I don't see anyone beating St Ed's either. You gotta like Alter the rest of the way just because of that brutal schedule they play.

To repeat ..... all my choices to win state titles are still in tact --

D-I Lakewood St. Eds

D-II Mentor Lake Catholic

D-III Columbus Watterson

D-IV Kettering Alter

D-V Youngstown Ursuline

D-VI Delphos St. John

Potential ALL- Parochial Champs.

Anyone have anything to say about D3? I know Watterson is probably the favorite but this division seems more up in the air than the rest.

Paladin_II wrote:The Glenville -Eds game was on cable STO and showcased what is a TON of future college players for both teams. Eds won because they contained the athletes on Glenville and kept them out of sync on O. Lots of INTs & fumbles. With huge OL & DL, Eds dominates in the trenches, where most games are won or lost. Most of those kids already have verbaled to a college. I still don't see who can beat them in D-I. Glenville, losing 42-22 may have gotten closer to them than anyone in the tournament can.

BTW, Ursuline was dominating too. Alter handled Alder fairly easy. And St. John ? With Marion Local beat, I see no one who gives them a game.
You are correct about why St Ed's won the game. The leading cause to the "resons" why Glenville lost, was poor fundamental coaching. Glenville is loaded, but fundamental disciplined football is not taught there.

I'll be interested to see how you pick the Alter/Kenton game.

Well the STO people seem to like Mooney even with 4 losses and I'm surprised Marlington isn't gettting much love no one has come within a touchdown yet of them, but if I was betting I'd say Watterson which means someone else will probably win LOL

Mooney simply isn't as good as they have been, plus they have been fighting the injury bug. Still aren't healthy right now. Marlington's league was weak this year and while they are decent, most don't see them as a state title threat, unless some top dogs get knocked off to weaken the division. Watterson remains the favorite.
