Re: RUSSELL RED DEVILS VS. IRONTON FIGHTING TIGERS, THOUGHTS
we looked bad in russell last year. Our first 2 drives were fumbles. I think we will win big, but a good start is necessary. We our kings of ball control and our size will wear most teams out. Wow that Cody Roberts can hit. Point after replayed his hit, I saw that and knew why Lutz started him at linebacker. Our defense WOW, TOUGH as nails. Size, Attitude, Heart, and Speed, we have a tough schedule but thats going to make us ready for the playoffs.

I agree. I did not mean to start a beef, just asking a simple question. You're Tiger Bait wrote:that is not ironton's problem, but i hope it's a great game , all we can do is try to schedule the best teams that we can play, or will play us.

--------------no beef at all my friend, what i'm trying to say is all we can do is schedule the best teams around that we can. every team has their up years n down years. we cannot control that , only what ironton puts on the field. i hope everybody is at full strength and having a great year when we meet them, that only conditions us for a playoff run. that's what i'm sayinGalliaGrad78 wrote:I agree. I guess I asked the question wrong. I should have said, I know about Hartley,Alder, and Jackson. But the others don't seem to be very beastly to me.
No disrespect intended anywhere.

It may start even, but when Ironton gets warmed up, it will be ugly. Ironton by 3 touch downs

Re: RUSSELL RED DEVILS VS. IRONTON FIGHTING TIGERS, THOUGHTS
Since it's their "kicking game" you're talking about, wouldn't that make it their "Achilles TOE" instead?? Sorry - I just couldn't resist - the juxtaposition of "kicking" and "heel" struck me funny.FIDO wrote:Tigers roll BIG!! I hope they continue to develop a kicking game, if nothing more than extra points.....It COULD be their Achilles heel come playoff time....
I totally agree with your sentiment, though! A kicking game for all situations and the ability to execute it is a huge weapon for a high school team to have tucked away to expand their options.
I have been saying this for years - I think all kids involved in football from jr high up ought to be learning and practicing kicking as well as throwing and catching technique. Even a kid who by most definitions is too small for football can learn to KICK if encouraged in developing a valuable skill!

I wasn't at the game because of work.
I believe our extra point kicker was 2 for 2 in attempts when we actually tried kicking a PAT correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe our kicking game will be alright, time will tell.

With both kicks barely making it over the crossbar, which is all that matters.OHbuckeye1 wrote:I wasn't at the game because of work.
