Also, is there a status update on the athletic complex improvements? What will be built/renovated in 2010? Will the baseball and softball fields be renovated in 2010?
I would direct your question to the NY alumni Assoc.
Although it is not the topic but I will answer the questions. The bash will take place on Saturday Oct 30, 2010 which happens to be the day after the home football game with Athens. The bash will have more prizes and a new team in charge with new ideas that will make for a great event. Tickets are almost ready for print and it looks like the grand prize is a new Camaro.
As for the baseball/softball fields...we started too late to make the long term improvements for the upcoming season so for now, baseball has 300 ton of dirt, a fertilized and re-seeded infield and will have new paint on the dugouts. Also, we will have trees planted in center field for the batter's background.
Softball has new dirt as well but needs more. Tarps have been purchased for the fields so there should not be as many rainouts.
I like your concerns, however, keep in mind that we still owe $44,000 for the final payment on the track. Plaques that will cost about $15,000 need to be purchased and installed by the first football game with hopes of possibly getting these in time for Track season.
Write anytime about the activities the athletic boosters are a part of.
