Why would you play this game at one of the worst facilities in southern Ohio? Sure, Tank Stadium has a great tradition and great atmosphere, but they have the worst visitors section in the area and in no way can hold the crowd this game will produce. Unless everyone is fine standing 4 to 5 deep along the fence to watch a huge game. Play it in Portsmouth. Neither team has played there and it would be a neutral site.

BUT I TAKE OFFENSE TO YOUR STATEMENT. IRONTON HAS AS MUCH VISITORS SEATING AS PORTSMOUTH I'M GUESSING. AND THE HOME TEAM WILL NOT FILL UP THE TANK'S HOMESIDE, I PROMISE.worst facility in southern ohio. i think not. ironton and it's stadium is a facility steeped in tradition , and old school feeling, and we have a covered stadium. at wheelersburg, our kids have to dress outside and have meetings outside, because the visitors locker room is a closet, and the heat is oppressive. 1 bathroom. all the way down by the consession stand. we have bathrooms on both sides and 3 large consession areas. the best parking facilities in my opinion in southern ohio. and what home team would not feel special getting to set in our covered stadium. wheelersburg's grass was burnt up and had bare patches all over it week 1. all i can say is we have supported burg on your threads all year supporting you, and this nonsense out of a respected burg poster is a blatant personal foul. one in my opinion , that can only be corrected by a public apology. thumbs way down on your opinion of ironton.

Not that I would really want to play there, but it's outside of each others county and Ironton has hosted playoffs so it would seem logical to play there. Hey, I'd be just fine with either Jackson or Portsmouth, but knowing the OHSAA we'll be playing in Chillicothe or some place closer to Columbus.

That or maybe what I do for a living. hehe. Thanks for the support Vlad!! I am assuming you were there last night but I didn't see you. I was in the same place as always. Not sure I will make the game next week as Findlay's last game of the season is Saturday at home. I will certainly be listening when I get back in radio range.

MY facility ??
anyway, if you were talking to burggrad, it sounds to me like you were cutting him pretty deep...

"at wheelersburg, our kids have to dress outside and have meetings outside, because the visitors locker room is a closet, and the heat is oppressive. 1 bathroom. all the way down by the consession stand."

if that doesn't describe the worst in SE Ohio, ironton must be pretty bad then.

if it's that bad i'd quit taking my kids down there.... and see if you can't get your truck-load of points elsewhere.
i guess you're not getting any points from them now in the post season so you can let your true hate come out now.

and... you neglected to tell us how your schedule was this year. i'll bet it was pretty tough wasn't it?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------QUITE THE OPPOSITE. WITH IRONTON LEADING THAT SERIES WITH WHEELERSBURG 15-5. AND IRONTON FINISHING IN THE 1 SLOT. IT'S USUALLY QUITE THE OPPOSITE. WE ROOT FOR YOU GUYS BECAUSE YOU ARE A COMMON OPPONENT. AND YOU PLAY US EACH YEAR, A VERY GOOD GAME. BUT BEGGING FOR YOUR POINTS , PLEASE. YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY , YOUR BROWNS ARE UP BIG ON THE PATS, AND BOTH YOUR HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS WON. :-D THE TIGERS AND THEIR FANS ARE NOT FIRING SHOTS OVER YOUR BOW, ABOUT YOUR STADIUM, LIKE BURG GRAD 77. DID. HE'S WHO STARTED IT, N I'M DONE.

Maybe saying it's the worst in southern Ohio was a little harsh and I do apologize for that but I stand behind my statement about it not being an ideal spot for a playoff game. Your visitor stands can't even hold the Burg crowd during a regular season game so what makes you think you could handle a crowd the magnitude of an Oak Hill/Minford rematch that will attract just about everyone who isn't going to watch the Burg/Fredricktown game, including probably half of Ironton who will go just to watch a football game.

As for our locker rooms, yes they are horrible, but that will all change next season after the new field house and concession stand is built where the old one is now. Last night was the last time you will ever see the Pirates come out from under the stands. New home bleachers on in the mix as well.

That would be Obama. Whether you like the man or not, at least show him the respect the President of the United States deserves.

At least I don't sound like the whiny kid who would take his ball and go home when he didn't get his way. I bet you cried a lot on the playground when you were young.

THANKS BURGGRAD77, i think you done the right thing, these two programs have alot of respect for each other. and are great rivals. we don't have the newest stadium facilities around, but dang proud of what we got. playoff games means money to schools as well to do much needed improvements. ironton has a shiny new school. has revamped alot around the stadium, has a new consession facility for the visitors. next surely will be a big restroom facility, and improvements like that. but as the burg is your home, the tank is ours.

I like the Tank. Good place to watch a game, especially from the home side.

I think I have made 6 games this year. There are several of these kids that I coached in pee-wee so it is good to see them play and play so well. This game was the best they have played out of the 6 I have seen. Hands-down.

He's doing well and enjoying playing at the next level. The biggest difference is the speed of the game. Much, much faster than the high school level. Bigger, faster, and stronger. I sent you a PM.
