Now dang it tjhtygeverve..you had a great post going..and I was just getting ready to agree with you..BUT...

tjhtygeverve wrote:Unfortunately, there are posters on both sides that just kick the heck out of respect for one anothers programs. It has been hard to bite your tounge when such bashing is going on, but turning the cheek is just the best thing to do and wish the other teams well. It still is difficult when, once the darn game is over, its over, yet people just have to chime in on one anothers teams' when really no-one cares what you think!!!

Then you had to go and throw this in and ruin it..I guess you just can't turn the other cheek either huh? ;-)

tjhtygeverve wrote:and then You have another team that can beat you while they are up for a few years, and you still give them a game, it's hard to turn the cheek, realizing you did your best, you've been consistiently the best, and really you are expected to always be the best!

I agree with the first part you said..I don't see why some people from BOTH sides just can't let the crap go..the game has been over for how long now??? It was all in fun before and during the week of the game..now the game is over and neither team is on the others schedule in the near future..it's just getting quite pathetic..from BOTH sides.

But anyways..that link for listening online..do they just start audio right before the game or do they do any kind of pregame? Just curious b/c I clicked on it and wasn't hearing anything..didn't know if I was just missing some kind of plug in or if it was b/c they weren't broadcasting anything yet?

Calpreps: Ironton 28 - N-Y 7 (Fanosportspreps: Ironton 56 - N-Y 6)

Bob's gonna put that 5-3 defense in from the start and force them to pass, not gonna happen !!!!! (On his pregame radio program he still referred to them as Nelsonville, old school football whipping I say).

I have turned the cheek and given respect. The truth brings out A LOT and settles or not...
National anthem playing so i pause..............
And hope those who were trying to catch the webcast have it on now. Also, it does go down and re-buffer, but comes back in minutes, unfortunately last week, on two occasions, when it did go down and come back up, ironton and portsmouth had scored during so. made for a nail biter of wondering what the play was. Really, though, i only wondered why others come into a forum to post only to get attention when they have their own team to support. It is either good luck, or move on really... That is what i mean about turning the cheek, sometimes you even get a kiss...
Now out of this sitch and onto cagelewis' posts....

Well..2 can play the whole 'truth' game..but like I said..I ended with Ironton after we beat Ironton. Don't see why it's so hard for others to do the same.

Good luck tonight!

Congrats to Ironton on winning the game and on Coach Lutz making history!

I have a feeling that Ironton was a tougher opponent than any team NY may see in the Region 19 playoffs, so this was a good test for the young Bucks, if they qualify for the playoffs.

Congrats goes out to Ironton!!
It was a great game and Ironton played better than us. We just couldn't get things going and when we did we found a way to kill our own drives. Ironton played a heck of a game!! Good luck the rest of the way!

Ironton pulls away from Nelsonville-York

IRONTON — The Nelsonville-York Buckeyes played tough, but in the end Ironton and its history-making coach were too much to overcome.

The Buckeyes lost to the Ironton Tigers 32-12 Friday in a non-league tilt. The win improved Ironton coach Bob Lutz’s overall record to 361-82-5, making him the all-time leader in coaching wins in Ohio high school football. He passed Terry Malone, who coached at Hamilton Catholic-Badin.

The win came in traditional Ironton and Lutz fashion. The Tigers had 298 rushing yards, and zero passing yards, grinding the win out on the ground and controlling the clock.

The loss drops the Buckeyes to 7-2 overall while Ironton improves to 7-2.

Nelsonville-York played Ironton tough. Derek Arnold’s four-yard touchdown run 2:36 before halftime cut the Tiger lead to 13-6. The Buckeyes trailed by that score at the break.

But the Buckeyes couldn’t score again until Ironton punched two across the goal line.

The Tigers Ethan Preston scored on a 14-yard run with 5:19 left in the third. The Tigers went ahead 26-6 on Tres Wilks’ 28-yard run with 11:43 left in the game.

Nelsonville-York’s second score make it 26-12. Jay Stump hauled in a 37-yard scoring pass from Nathan Dean with 7:50 to play.

The Tigers Keith Wetzel ended the scoring with a one yard run with 4:24 left.

Ironton scored the first two touchdowns on the ground. The first was by J.P. Taylor on a seven-yard run. The Tigers went up 13-0 on a 70-yard touchdown run by Wilks.

Arnold finished with 87 yards rushing on 24 carries while Justin Cunningham had 41 yardson 11 attempts.

Wilks led Ironton with 100 yards rushing on three carries. Wetzel added 68 on 13 attempts while Taylor added 44 yards.

Dean had a solid game at quarterback against the tough Ironton defense. He completed 11-of-16 passes for 107 yards and the touchdown. Stump caught four passes for 70 yards.

Nelsonville-York had 221 yards of total offense on the night.

The Buckeyes will return to Tri-Valley Conference Ohio Division play next week with plenty to play for. They’ll take on Vinton County with a chance to gain a piece of the league title with Athens. A playoff spot in Division V, Region 19 is still very much possible for the Buckeyes.
