Re: SEOAL 2010
Logan will come back down to earth this year as most games will be a grind. while everybody seems to focus on the offense, it was amyx who kept the defense rock solid. i have all the respect in the world for coach wolfe but you simply cannot replace a Dale Amyx as the defensive mastermind and supreme motivator. this will be sorely missed. how many 1st down goal line stands did the chiefs face over the last 3 or 4 years and stop the other team dead after a well timed timeout and an Amyx fiery speech? i put that number at about 10 over the last four years. the defense will suffer and i just dont know if we have the offense to overcome it imo. i see a 7-3 season this fall and it could actually be worse. i have been the first to crown us champs the last three years at the beginning of the season but everythings different now. i hope im wrong. peace out!

Wolfe and his staff have been together for awhile and they should know what to do with the defense. There just might be a little coaching from the past

Jackson's four game stretch of Logan, Warren, Portsmouth, and Ironton will be brutal and define their season. If Logan does end up dropping off a little then this could be an interesting season....

Re: SEOAL 2010
For Logan to qualify for the playoffs in D-2 R-7, they need about 50% more Harbin Points than anyone else, and then play teams who have an easier time playing annual powers due to location. For Logan to make it, and especially to win one, shows the marked increase in talent in comparison. (EXPECTED in D-2!) So I can't see putting down the smaller schools, or the Chiefs as they perform comparably IMO. We can all talk State champs, but to make it is good for all of us, and to make it to the 2nd round is the sweet 16 in the state (divisions) - Why are we complaining?
I do see more of a drop off than some for Logan. Although I hate to see it, we will go through a few years of the same as we did after the "Conrad team era" (for lack of better descriptive words in my vocabulary). Excellent talent, but we'll have to see how they perform. Our 5-5 teams in -I think- '02-3- had GREAT talent, they just didn't mesh well and excel in the big games. None of us will ever know why. We had D-1 State level sprinters, shot puts and high jumpers in track in that same era if my memory serves me correctly.
I see 8-2 at best, that is best- just my opinion. Hope I'm wrong.
Still, I see a win against Lancaster, but P. North and Portsmouth's best team since ('07?) should have plenty of talent to take Logan this year.
Again, as it is what makes H.S. so exciting, what will they do in the off-season? Will they do on the field what they can actually do.
In any event, GO CHIEFS!!!

I almost posted an ??? reply to this! lol Didn't realize how many other '87's' there were to post here! Gees, seems we are getting old. Hehe
Just mentioned to my wife that next year I will be as old as my mother when we met!

Happy posting- BTW- and good luck to all of us. May we be injury free in the playoffs. I still think Logan wins the Brookhaven game if Angle isn't hurt. He had settled down and took command in the mid 2nd qtr. and Just failed to score at the end of the 1/2. Also moved easily in the 1st drive of the 3rd 'till his injury which resulted in a FG shortly after.
Not too much mentioned, but I see a Portsmouth-Nelsonville game which would be competitive annually.
They should look into that.

I read on another site that someone claimed Logan and Chillicothe were looking to become a part of a Mid-State League expansion. Fact or fiction?
