I don't think so. Some turnovers in the 1st half probably wouldn't have happened if it wasn't raining as well as the dropped passes that caused drives to stall. I say this because while it would have still been a good game. you noticed in the second half when it wasn't a downpour that the Blue Devils took care of business beating the Tigers 30-13 in the second half.

Gallia would not want to replay the Jackson game. Thanks for the points you are going to put us in the playoffs.

Congrats Gallia on ovc championship!
Ironton had this game in control after first score in 3rd quarter!
Even the rain stopped to even out the playing field if we need to go there. If you’re good, the weather does not control your outcome!
All year the tigers have struggled to play 4 quarters! This happened again! I’m very proud of the very young tigers. They’ve have grown tremendously and will be a handful to anyone on their schedule on the following years. The roar is still being restored & takes time! ITS YEAR ONE!
Win or lose!
Tiger fan that’s very proud!!!

We beat them literally on our worst day and no way they want a rematch in fact I think they made sure that won’t happen again.

I’ll take this side of the ROAR, compared to last year and even some before.
Last year 4-6
Now 6-3.

Either way, I like being on this side of the new ROAR.
It’s definitely better than the side you’ve been on and still are!

Good luck Gallia and fighting tigers!!!

Young and playing hard. Gotta LOVE IT!!

Why is Jackson even being brought up? This thread should be focused on Gallia winning a great game and Ironton laying it all the line.

I have to say it was nice to finally get ironton on a last minute drive. After failing to do it two other times. This decade.

I thought ironton had a great game plan in first half they knew all of gallias defensive tendencies and used those against them.

But much longer me the blue devils last year they weren’t able to adjust to the adjustments. They are going to get better and better but so our blue devils probably a little step back next year. After all the production from this year graduates but they will not be bottom feeders

Gallipolis just helped Jackson and hurt Athens. As a neutral observer I would have to take Jackson in a rematch. Ironton for DV and a new coach is doing phenomenal IMO.

Agreed. Really outplayed Jackson but I don't think they outplayed Ironton.

GalliaTribe wrote: Fri Oct 19, 2018 11:09 pm Really good game by both teams. Really sad that Ironton did not have an answer with us stacking 9 men in the box. Bad coaching on their part. Also, I know we have punishment for personal foul penatilites for our kids just wondering if Ironton does anything to their kids? Seemed like some dirty playing from a few Tigers out there. Both programs look strong but glad my devils pulled this one off. Way to go coach!
Go Blue Devils
Good Q about the fouls. I am an Ironton fan. I graduated in 1982. I am in Orlando. I listen to every game every year. I was ALL FOR THE COACHING CHANGE! Last week was my first game I got to watch via a coal grove live Facebook page in its entirety, and it was awesome.

IHS, did the same after HT and almost lost the game(turnovers and penalties). The game was very very HEATED and I saw several personal fouls by IHS & CGHS & have “heard “ them several times throughout the year on audio casts.

IDK, what the new coaches process is on a personal foul. There is no sense in it and it sounded like both ihs and gahs traded punches, so to speak, when it was unnecessary!

They need to end this. Perhaps, b/c they are mostly sophomores and young guys , but if it’s known, it should be stopped regardless!

This was a great game to listen to. I was shocked IHS took a commanding lead on such a senior laden HUGE AND PHYSICAL team like Gallia was.
I truly thought, we would not be in it late just from reading up on outcomes of previous games and Gallia size/ & ihs being banged up and so young!

On the last Gallia pass TD, can anyone explain what happened? The webcasts announcers said refs huddled, waited, talked, then called TD. Was it a tip toe matter?. Just curious here, so far away and hard to visualize!

I’m very happy for both squads and wish them health and good luck! I know the tigers are banged up and prolly more so after tonight, to be honest, it sounded brutal for the tigers. I knew our secondary was suspect and they just seem to let it linger like that.

I also agree ihs should’ve had an answe for crowding the box, but the size advantage took its toll, IMO!
