6. The Belpre (Eagles) last years (TVC-Ohio Division Champion) will have a different season this year. They lost some of their talent from last years team and will need to re-build. Good Luck Eagles :!:

Good Luck to all the (TVC-Ohio Division Teams) their coaches and fans this season.

Play safe and with sportsmanship.

Belpre returns Ashton Packard TVC Ohio Defensive POY and leading rusher from '07 along with 4/5 of the offensive and defensive lines. Don't think the cupboard is bare in Belpre. Far from it!

Leading rusher?? From the TVC??

That's last year. This is a new season. Lets see.

Ashton Packard wasn't the running back until Mike Wadedrker was injured in the in the fifth game, so I'm not even sure he was the leading rusher for Belpre, let alone TVC. But make no mistake about it, he was TVC def. player of the year.

smashmouth, for you to say that none of Belpre's returning players are any good, just proves how ignorant you really are.

Go Eagles.

Belpre was missing one starter and Meigs beat them by 30 points, they'll need to improve a lot if they even want a chance at the tvc

S-M, Wes Radabough missing from Belpre's lineup is like Mr. English absent from Meigs. Play the game without English, does Meigs win by 30? I don't think so. Missing one key player from a team already down to 19 players can be a big deal.

As for your comment, Belpre's returning players aren't any good, I'll bet the Meigs coach doesn't share your opinion. Belpre has 10 players that would start for Meigs.

Go Eagles

yea meigs wouldnt win by 30, but meigs sure wouldnt lose by 30, and I know the coach doesnt share my opinion because he has more respect than me, but I know he doesnt think there is a team in this league thats better than meigs.

If belpre players came to meigs, none of them would start

I think I can settle this smash_mouth and gpgm6566 dispute. After the fourth quarter of week ten, we will be able to tell the better team.

Go Marauders!

One predicition I would like to make is that Athens is going to surprize some people by having more success in the TVC. I think at best this season, Athens will go 6-4 and at worst 4-6. Gone are the days when Athens only wins 1 or 2 games. In fact, if you look at the last twenty years, Athens has had about as much success against NY as any other team in the TVC has had. So even when Athens had teams with few wins, the Bulldogs still would have competed well in the TVC in most of those seasons.

I think Athens is well on its way to turning around its football program. Joining the TVC is the spark that will ignite life back into Bulldog football. More wins = more fan interest = more interest in kids wanting to play football. Playing local rivals = more fan interest from not having to travel far for games = more support for the football team from the community.

Another point to make locally, is that the move to the TVC just guaranteed that NY vs. Athens will be the biggest rivalry for both schools in the future. What I would like to see happen in the future is NY vs. Athens in Week 10 with the TVC championship on the line. Imagine the excitement built up in Athens County over that scenerio!

Nelsonville-York wins the TVC Ohio. They have the entire backfield back, and their WRs. This translates to many being back on defense. Adding to that, their JV team was solid, and had enough talents to fill in the very few spots.

Last year was supposed to be the year where NY was vulnerable. You better believe they will be much better in 08 than they were in 07.

NYBuckeye96....

I have the exact same thoughts about Athens as you have.

I would be surprised to see the TVC Ohio winner go undefeated this season. I look for a tie for the top spot.

Of course, I pick Belpre as one of the co-champs. Nelsonville would be my other co-choice.

I think athens will eventaully be good in the tvc but not any time soon. Both Meigs and NY blew them away last year, and i think belpre and vinton will beat them too. I say they'll go 4-6 and be 5th or 6th in the tvc

I think Coach Arno will have a much improved Spartan team this year, but the road to the TVC Ohio Championship still goes through Nelsonville. Good Luck Spartans!

I think that NY will win the title this year.
VC and Belpre will have to battle it out for second.
