They can leave if they feel they are too good to stick around. Nobody can stop them. It will never happen though......Too much of a scheduling nightmare. Burg knows they shouldn't go anywhere.

Only reason burg stays in the soc is because of scheduling.

Why even ask this?? Just to get crap started? The Pirates are happy right where they are. This is one of the better conferences in our area and is normally competitive, but the Burg is just a step above everyone this year as long as they play their game. Why would they want to leave a conference they have dominated since the early 70's and are considered the favorite pretty much every year?

😂. That’s not hard to figure out. It wasn’t long ago Valley put a run together. This conference is usually very competitive. Burg is just holding themselves to a higher standard as of late. Things will get more competitive. West has a good thing going right now. They will continue to get better. They aren’t there yet.

Why would they leave a for sure 4 games every year? Can you imagine Burg trying to schedule 10 games.

Who would they schedule then? By wk 4 or 5 pretty much every team is in their conference play so that would make for a near impossible task of scheduling games after about wk 5

Be careful you're dabbling in the old Portsmouth mindset toward the SOC. The SOC is the best conference in the area by far. If Burg wants to leave that's their choice but have fun with scheduling. You think Watterson was good? They aren't the best Columbus Catholic School. If Burg thinks because Coldwater is gone from D5 they can win state look out for Anna from the Mighty MAC. I think Burg can compete of course but the worm will turn. Look at Ironton and Portsmouth.

There 1-6. Watterson used to be the bees knees but Desales took that title. Honestly if Notre Dame had the recruiting power of Burg they would be a solid D7 team. All the Catholics in the county shew wee

The Burg leaving the SOC is kind of funny to me. As others have mentioned, scheduling plays a huge part in things, but in reality you're letting the micro outweigh the macro. Burg is dominant... I mean they are a great football team. No one questions it and no one doubts their ability. But if you look at the last 20 year of SOC II football, there are quite a few other schools with names on the trophy. Valley joined SOC II in 05 or 06... Since that time, I think all of the current members have multiple SOC titles. Minford has one title, not sure about two. Each of the schools have had their run... Burg's run right now is awesome, it's truly great but there's nothing that says they are too good for their conference. They are in arguably the toughest D4-D6 conference in the SE district, and the teams in their conference have all had major playoff success. In my opinion, it's short sighted to think Burg is too good for the rest of the conference. All of the current SOC II members have had good/dominant Jr High teams in the last 3-4 years, it's not like Burg has been lapping the field at the lower levels too. Enjoy your run, it's historic and awesome... But at small schools, this stuff is somewhat cyclical and the rest of the SOC has not been a pushover.

It’s they’re. Please take note of that. Lol. Anywho. Now they are 2-7. Whoopty dooo. When games are scheduled they are done years in advance. Bet they didn’t know that was going to be the case. Hartley next year, but maybe the Burg AD knew they were going to have a down year. 😂 They just took that title away from DeSales. They beat them last night.

Ain’t nobody leaving the SOC. That’s a mute point. 🤓”Oh and look out for Anna out of the Mighty MAC. But I’m rooting for ya huh huh.” 🤓 Such a mouth breather 😩😩

Our area schools all have their ups and downs. We all play to win. Lets all just get along.
