Here's the answer to the Oak Hill part of your question. Jackson and Oak Hill first met on Thanksgiving Day in 1955. Jackson won 13-12. The last Thanksgiving Day game between the two was in 1961.
Thanks One Oak. I know that Jackson won in 1956 by the score of 18-13. Jackson won in 1957 by the score of 7-0.

Jackson 54
Wellston 14

Just another reason to the long list of why this game is ending.

Great game Ironmen. That’s what I wanted to see offensively. Spires/Graham/Yates/Ice/Parks/Haller...look out. Passes to Davis/Landrum/Evans...BOOM

Defense as advertised...just stellar at every position. Offensive line struggled early but cleaned it up nicely and overall ended good. They will keep improving. Kick coverage was great all but 1 time.

Some back up players Spires/Prater/Bragg/Graham all had some big plays.

Congrats to Brice Graham on Paul Blankenship MVP for Jackson....Spires/Hump/Ice and others could’ve won as well.

Gutsy effort from Molihan and others on the Wellston squad. Good luck the rest of the way.

Jackson needs To clean up some special teams . Wellston was bigger and more kids . Overall not bad for the weakest team in 10 years . Keep working Ironmen

Packed house.

Although I have been a proponent of this game ending, and last night is one of those reasons, the turnout was unbelievable.

Good luck to both teams moving on.

Very good game for Jackson. made a few mistakes that are fixable. But as the game went on and the boys got settled in, they dominated. Offensively we moved the ball very well, could have maybe thrown the ball a little more, but I could see that happening more and more each week. Running game was there. Good job for the o-line, good first game, I could see some other guys in there on the line. I think they could have given the ball more to haller/Yates/spires more. Haller had 2 good runs then nothing after that. But have graham/haller/Yates/and spires be your main backfield for the year. That’s a very good group to have running the ball, and will creat problems for teams. Ice did a great job with getting the ball out to his play makers and also making plays with his legs.

Landrum and Evans are gonna give some teams this season some problems, both had great season openers.

Defense, did not disappoint. that unit will get stronger and better as the season goes, I did like getting the young cats in there early like prayer/spires/hump and others. They are gonna vital for this years teams success, with having more experienced guys to put in and play. Good win and now on to week 2!

most definitely!!! The place was packed......before , during and after the game.........programs need games like these finically......now before people start jumping on the lop sided W-L's of this series.....Jackson is the one that is going to be the one that has to find something....but this is the surprising thing to me......Wellston legit argument of getting out of the series was because of it being a lopsided series....so the golden rockets get a game with Oak Hill on a Saturday which I will admit it will bring gate sales but NOTHING like the Jackson-Wellston game, HOWEVER, the golden rockets go out and now schedule Washington C.H. who in turn is the exact same size as Jackson and is even projected to possible win the FAC and beat Jackson????? Now that to me does not make any sense at. Oak Hill game under stable......scheduling a equivalent of Jackson after dropping the Jackson game is beyond me. Good Luck to both teams throughout the rest of the year........
