That’s too bad some not wanting to make the trip to the Wood. The Wood has traveled and played at Burg, twice, at Portsmouth West, at Valley and at Minford. I thoroughly enjoyed the trips and venues to all the above. Burg hands down best atmosphere, though Minford was nice playoff environment. Valley and West nice venues as well.
Game atmosphere at the Wood is really solid. Whoever makes the trip will not be disappointed. Facilities are solid, fieldhouse currently under construction. New home bleachers and press box installed 4 years ago, natural grass(very well taken care of), solid parking, loud music, great band and will be packed capacity on home side. Good luck to all teams these last 2 weeks.

Sounds like a nice venue. Assuming Portsmouth has to play Ridgewood, I’ll be making the trip. I like going to new places, 3 hours isn’t all that bad.

I was looking at the map at your facilities, what is that building with the circular roofs next to the football field?

"The Dome" is the current Middle School at Ridgewood. It was the previous High School.

From a person that goes to the games, they have. Are they the 17squad that won the D5 state championship? Hell no!
Theyre even improved from week 6 at minford.

Can they go toe to toe and smash mouth football? we shall see I would suspect.
They didn't seem to do anything fancy when I saw them against Waverly, lined up and ran Matthews and Horsely downhill. Both were very hard runners and didn't look afraid to give or take a hit. Matthews broke a ton of tackles that game.

I really like Valleys stadium and parking situation, it can bottleneck a little on the way out of the parking lot but I've heard people make that assumption about Portsmouth and it's probably more likely I just don't know my way around very well. Wheelersburg has much improved facilities and the parking situation is a little better, especially of you don't mind walking a bit and parking at the elementary school. Northwest has a nice new facility, tons of parking and plenty of ways onto the roads but I've heard the visitor side is cramped. I think pretty much every d5 or d6 team in the county has a newer or refurbished stadium.

Agreed. But we didn’t have to do anything else. If you remember early in that game, we had a passing game. With 6, the offense runs much smoother, the ball comes out on time, the whole process is on time and ball goes to the right player.

Not totally sold the burgs D is anything more than average but the offense has found an identity and is much improved since early to mid season
Burgs solid overall

I wasn't insinuating that you couldn't do anything else, I was just saying that you were capable of playing smash mouth football.

Defense is adequate enough I think but most burg fans are trying to compare to the state team. Those teams are rare. If burgs offense is moving the ball, the coaches are smart enough to help the defense out and they are starting to look like they could win a region.

Something got lost in the translation cause I was not insinuating anything other than what I said, and I totally agree with you. Just trying to state that the offense is evolving
