Yes, this fits what I was told. VC will play Athens first TVC game next year, and than five other TVC games with NY being week 10. SIX STRAIGHT LEAGUE GAMES TO END THE SEASON.
Change is good, VC will still play wellston and it will still be a rivalry game!
GO VIKES

Yeah, I was hoping for NY vs. Athens in Week 10. I think that would make for a better week 10 than NY vs. Alex or Athens vs. Alex. Nelsonville vs. Athens goes back to 1923. Alex vs. Athens goes back less than a decade.

Week 10 should be:
NY vs. Athens
VC vs. Wellston
Alex vs. Meigs
Bye: Belpre

With the addition of Federal Hocking to the Athens schedule, every school in Athens County now plays each other except for these two matchups:

Athens vs. Trimble
Nelsonville-York vs. Federal Hocking

Meigs vs Alex in week 10??? Why in the world would anyone want that? There isn't even a hint of rivalry in that game and it's never even really been a close game in the past. For as long as I can remember Meigs and Belpre have always had a nice rivalry in week 10. Years ago there was a traveling trophy for the winner (I believe sponsored by the Jaycees). I can also remember at least two occasions where there were sideline clearing brawls during the Meigs/Belpre game. I would surely hope Meigs wouldn't put Alexander as their final game of the season.

I was thinking the same thing frozenrope...I always thought Meigs and Belpre was a nice little rivalry to finish out the season...as long as we dont have to listen to that stupid victory bell after they beat us..haha

Greenville is definitely playing a tough schedule this year. Teams like Kettering Alter and Piqua are Dayton area powerhouses and Vandalia Butler, Miamisburg, and Springboro are usually fairly good also. Athens will probably be looking at a tough game just because of the competition that Greenville plays.

I was told that NY was trying to get Fed Hock on the schedule and have been trying for about 2 months. Fed will NOT play NY. They will not even return the calls about it.

A week 10 bye for Belpre works for me only if we can move the Warren game back to week 10 where it belongs.
