well knight your right about the oline, but to be honest with you ever game is won upfront and i really dont think waverly's line can do it this year. Plus i've heard alot of waverly's players saying there stronger and faster then piketon's line can you please re a sure them that there not we did win a state championship this yr in something called power lifting and faster i doubt it there also

Is Waverly having an attendance issue? I heard this but it seems out of character for them.

Piketon wins a state championship in powerlifting because they bring thirty girls to compete as well....

falconflyer,
What exactly is your question (number of kids playing or attendance of those playing)?

1. Numbers are down as everyone knew they would be. The class of 2008 was the biggest class to ever graduate from Waverly, 21 played football.
The class of 2009 is much smaller, there are only 5 or 6 seniors playing football (not many juniors last year).

2. I wouldn't think there would be an issue with attendance out of those playing because they probably wouldn't be playing if they're not attending, if you know what I mean.

Yes, Robertson and Rowland are seniors. Roback and Malone are juniors.

Waverly will compete at a very high level in the SOC this year, and is definitely a title contender. IMO they will not finish any lower than 3rd.

Back on July 26th we went to a 7 on 7 at Otterbein. We went 5-0 that day and scored better than 100 points total. We scored better than 20 in each game and had 7 or 8 ints that I can think of quickly. One of the guys reffing who played at Otterbein said told me that he had reffed at both of the 7 on 7's that Otterbein hosted and that we were farther along than any team he had seen in the two days. I think that we've improved a great deal in the 10 days since then. We are eight practices in to 2-a-days and the kids are making real progress.

We'll see what that means in a game before long. We have a great group of kids on this team. They are good people and a lot of fun to work with. The young kids work very hard and are very matter of fact about the expectations of the staff. They do what they are told and take coaching well. They have a solid work ethic. We are proud of all of our guys.
