The Maysville scrimmage is at Warren.

Lemon is getting healthy and Venham is practicing, so if there are no more injuries Warren will be at full strength for Maysville on Friday. There are still a couple players dinged-up. Singer (JR) had a finger stepped on in the scrimmage and Lane (FR) is on crutches. Not sure of the extent of these injuries. Good practice last night, the coaches spent a lot of time going over the Caldwell film and correcting errors in practice. The coaches do seem to have it together this year.

I thought the kid who had his finger stepped on in the scrimmage was Mayle. Who is it? Sorry for the mix-up.

warrnwarriorfan wrote:First night of hitting! It was good to hear the pads popping. The team "looks" good. They are bigger than the last few teams Warren has had. Didn't get to hit until 7:00p though because of the heat.

For the next few days I think they are moving Alfred into Lemon's spot and using the SO Timberman at center. I'm not sure where the linebackers will end up, it's way early. Ellenwood is getting the first string reps at QB so, for the moment, he is not an option at TE.

so your trying to say you delayed hitting because it was to hot?

warriorfan-i beleive the kid you are refering to is kaleb singer.
mayle decided not to play this year for some odd reason.

pride- our athletic trainer is very by the book. she has charts she must follow when it comes to temperaturee and relative humidity combinations. if its too hot or too humid, we arent allowed to go full gear.

What time does Marietta practice? Warren practices from 4p-6p and 7p-9p. Don't you practice in the morning? That's probably the difference.

a lot of the coaches work during the day so practicing in the morning would make it impossible to have them all there. its a new year...we will see how things turn out this year

Good luck to the Warriors in the scrimmage with Maysville this evening! I understand that they run a single-wing. THAT will be interesting. You guys have been putting in the hard work, I can't wait to see your progress tonight.

Go Blue!

Yes, the scrimmage was at Warren. Maysville had over 60 kids and some of them were horses. Overall the Warriors defeated Maysville 20-14. Warren's varsity scored twice on offense and the JV scored once on offense. The Maysville varsity scored once on offense and one time on defense when they ran back an INT. Basically, Warren looked solid both offensively and defensively. The running game is really clicking. The defense stuffed Maysville on all but the one scoring drive. If anything, Warren seemed to get tired. The passing game didn't look as good this week as it did last week. Hilverding was able to complete a few passes, but ended up with an INT (not his fault, really) and tried to force things a bit. Ellenwood looked good running the ball, but looked tight trying to throw.

Wolfe looked very good again. Tyler Cox is kicking PATs very well. Venham can punt the ball very, very well. It was a solid outing.

Belpre is next.

the warrior line looked very good both offensively and defensively...i was very impressed. it all starts up front...i thot the O-line did a good job opening holes and the D-line kept people off of the linebackers and secondary...the only thing i can say is...condition condition condition...the starting 11 are as good as anyone else...its just those 11 have 2 play offense, defense, special teams, EVERYTHING!!!

overall i think things are coming along well...keep it up warriors!!!
