Re: SEOAL Game by Game Predictions

I think that the key to Chillicothe's season is the first three games. Brookhaven, Big Walnut, and Sheridan is going to be a brutal three game stretch to start the season. I'm not intending to slam Chillicothe with this comment, but I honestly see them at 1-2 or even 0-3 after those games. If they end up 2-1 or 3-0, then yeah, they definitely could have a great year. However, I don't see that happening.

Playing that difficult non-league slate will definitely benefit them as far as playing good competition, but if they were to lose 2 of those games, or all 3, where would the kids be at mentally going into SEOAL play? It's very hard to come back mentally after a rough start like that. If Chillicothe starts out on the wrong foot, they won't have much confidence going into SEOAL play, and that could really hurt them. You can have all the talent in the world, but without confidence after a rough start, it might not matter. Just to clarify, I'm not trying to say that Chillicothe's kids have no confidence...just that it's tough to come back from two or three losses in a row for any team.

Good points. I also agree that Chillicothe is very overated, but it is usually a few Homers doing it! Thats all. If you talk to others ,or read most predictions, it is very clear that except for a couple Chillicothe fans, no one sees them in the top three in the SEOAL. I do think they have a few talented kids and will fight you. They simply do not have the talent to play a non league schedule with teams like Sheridan and Big Nut. These will be blowouts. They will stay with Brookhaven this year and may beat them. You have to give Chilli respect though, I do not know any team that has that strong of a non league schedule, brutal! The key will be, how beat up will they be when they start league play? Sheridan and Big Walnut may be two of the most physical teams in the state every year. If Chillicothe can upset a Sheridan team that many are picking to win the region and head to the state finals, and a good physical Big Walnut, I will be the first to sing their praise, and they would have earned the respect. Still must beat a very talented Logan team and Ironton to win the SEOAL. IMO, better odds at winning the Mega Millions!

You have a great point. However, I know you and others will remember the 2004 Logan Chieftains that started 1-5 with losses to Lancaster, Chillicothe, Gahanna-Lincoln, DeSales, and Jackson to start the season only to rebound to finish 5-5 and as co-champions of the league.

Caleb Knights will provide solid leadership for CHS. Will the rest of the kids follow?

I am not much of a person to make predictions. I know some changes have been made to the Chillicothe program this off season that hopefully will be seen on Friday nights. But I guess time will tell, for now I guess I will be a doubter like everyone else and say 3-7 for the Cavs since that's the easy road to take.

Locos,

It's definitely possible that Chillicothe will be ready to go when SEOAL play begins, no matter how their run through the non-league schedule goes. I think it will be very difficult for them, but we'll see how they respond in a couple months. Hopefully the Cavs don't have any trouble at all with their first three games and it's a non-factor anyway.

i like to see this

It shows that this season is going to have some big surprises

some have marietta doing poor but some have them doing average and some above average and same with warren.

The Leage looks very competivtive this season.

Chances are that they, or anyone else for that matter, will slip up at some point during the season. But, rather than simply guessing at which team they will lose to, I chose to take what I believe to be a more logical approach to making these picks. There are many, many toss-up games that were difficult for me to pick. But I look at it like this: If I had to lay $1000 bucks down on the game, who would I pick to win?

I would agree on that one. I think it may well boil down between these three schools this season to win the SEOAL. I am just glad we have you two at the Hernnstein this year. :-D

Good Luck :!:

GO SEOAL :!: :-D

GO CAVS :!: :-D

Let's be real. I doubt anyone in the league will provide much competition for Logan. I hope there are some good games this year. Winning every game by half time is not too exciting.

Actually if you measure recent success (as in four straight league titles) it is real for one team. LOGAN

It is a fantasy for the rest i agree.
