New conference

Post by Poo Bear »

So it looks like the svc is content with the status quo
Any idea which teams if any will be contacted to join the new league consisting of ...

Greenfield
Chillicothe
Miami trace
Hillsboro
Washington courthouse
Jackson

I think 8 is the perfect number

I would be shocked if circleville or logan elm left the msl. Why would they leave such a stable situation?

My opinion:

Those 6 Should just stay as those 6. It will be a very competitive league. Leagues start getting Greedy and then you see other teams get upset and leave for "greener" pastures. I am sure they will expand, but they should establish themselves first and then look 3-4 years down the road.

I agree.... I think that if a school reaches out to them then they should consider that school(s), but they should take a couple seasons to establish this new league.

I think the powers that be have a clear direction for this new league so it will be fun and exciting to see how it shakes out.

I agree with baseball16. I think a 6 team league is fine.

I know that it may be a little difficult to fill 5 non-conference games every season, but it's manageable. If the league eventually got to 8 teams, that would probably be fine as well, but I don't think it's truly necessary. Just glad that Jackson's kids will have a chance to play for league championships, and they'll have 5 games locked in for Weeks 6-10 every year.

B-16, your post contains the most common sense of all the SCOL-SVC topics !! !!

I think these are all valid points. However I think one reason that Chillicothe made this mine to provide stability for years to come. Chillicothe has jumped around and maybe they felt this scenario provided them more stability than a league with the Clinton county teams.

I do think Chillicothe and Jackson are a natural rivalry . Two d 3 city schools separated by a short drive up 35. Traditional pretty good programs. Jackson on the other hand isn't a school who jumps around every few years. They've been in 1 league since what ....1925?
Doesn't get any more loyal than that.

Well just have to see how it shakes out out I think it will be a solid league for a long time .

I've heard the name Frontier Upper Conference is going to be used. Not sure where that name came from.

Could run into some issues with it being called that. "FUC", you can only imagine what I am meaning when I say that.

Gee whiz, I never noticed that! I've also heard Delta Interscholastic Conference is a name being thrown around. They'll probably go with that to be safe.
