Agreed. If they somehow get a 6 seed they have a shot at a win in the first round.maniac66 wrote:If Ironton don't get put against Wheelersburg they have a shot at winning a game in week 11 but week 12 may be a whole different matter. The Oaf wrote:Yep, and it's been that way for awhile. I really don't think there's anymore pressure on Ironton this week then there ever is. They have been in the playoffs since week 5 anyway for all intents and purposes. Ironton will handle PHS, win the OVC, and make the playoffs Friday night although I don't think there's anyway they make it past week 11.wobycat wrote:Simple math here
Ironton win = in

Wheelersburg is the cream of the crop in this region and simply has Irontons number sadly.
Ironton 43 Portsmouth 28

Trojans are improved this year, but still lose to Ironton I think despite the Tigers' injury situation.
Ironton plays in Week 11.
Ironton plays in Week 11.

Re: Week 10 : (6-3) Ironton @ (6-3) Portsmouth
First, let me congratulate the Trojans and the coaching staff on the first winning season at PHS since 2010. It may not seem like a big deal to some programs, but at Portsmouth we are very proud of our kids and coaches. When you've been down for a long time, a season like this is to be cherished, no matter what the playoff or conference standings are.
With that said, the Trojans can pull the upset ONLY IF the defense shows up. Portsmouth's defense has been porous, especially the 2nd half of the season. Offensively, PHS should be able to move the ball on the Fighting Tigers and hopefully finish drives. Ironton has improved quite a bit from early in the season, and with the playoffs on the line, they will be even tougher to beat.
By the way, whatever happened to the Tradition Trophy? Who has it and where is it?
GO TROJANS!!!

If Portsmouth can play with emotion and be physical up front and Parker stays healthy, they have a shot. Ironton a little wounded
Ironton wins 28-20

Ironton by 20, Portsmouth has gotten worse in my opinion as the weeks have gone on.

Tigers by 21 in this one.

I like this game being Week 10. Portsmouth can't make the playoffs but this is still a huge game for the Trojans. Having the chance to knock your rivals out of playoff contention and pick up win number 7 for the first time since 09. Looking like it will be in the 50's at kickoff. Hoping for a good crowd for senior night. Go Trojans!

B Ball is right around the corner ! Portsmouth is a Bball school .
Re: Week 10 : (6-3) Ironton @ (6-3) Portsmouth
I think Ironton will win this game with little problems and also they probably will jump the #7 in region 19 and then they would play Sugarcreek Garaway in the first round
