Newark Catholic vs Fairfield Union scrimmage(varsity 1-1)

Fairfield Union, I am guessing the varsity being they played first had some good moments on defense with two picks. Their offense looked iffy but it is so early and this was the first scrimmage. They did score once and showed some good things in the running game.

For Newark Catholic, I believe #58 played really well under center. He ran the ball well overall and at times threw the ball well.

I can not remember the other players number who played QB. He made some good throws that his receiver let hit the ground.

The running game looked good for this early into it and I liked some of the things they were doing as far as formations go. The offense scored once.

I counted 50 plus players for the Green Wave not sure if the freshmen were included or not.

I will say as far as the younger units went it was all Newark Catholic helped in a large part by the play of the last kid who played QB along with his lineman.

The young Green Wave scored three and did not give up any scores.

I really liked the way both of the Green Wave units played defense.

I wear my PV stuff all of the time around here and then I have to say where I got it and then how I became a Bearcat fan.

I will let you know what week I will be at your place.
Newark Catholic has 8 Friday game,so that leaves me on 2 Friday Nights to travel. One week is set for Strasburg and the other Paint Valley.

That's if things match up with the schedules.
