Lutheran East 40 Gamble Montessori 7
(I am using the rosters from Hudl.com)

This afternoon I made my way to Hillard Darby high school to watch the contest between Lutheran East and Gamble Montessori. This would be my 2nd time ever seeing East and third time seeing Gamble in my lifetime. In those games East is 1-0, while Gamble is 0-2.

The East defense would show some grit, when #10(Not on the roster got to MALIK LEE, for a four-yard-loss, with 9:54 left in the quarter. Gamble would be forced to punt a short time later. They would total twenty-four-yards on the drive.

After making a catch and a short run Ivan Percy Jr. put the ball on the ground and it looked like Anthony Allen of Gamble came up with it and he made a nice run before being cut down, with 7:08 left in the quarter.

Defense was the name of the game early in this one and that showed big time, when Aviyon Fitz got to #5 (Not on the roster) for a ten-yard-loss, at the 3:57 mark. Gamble faced a fourth and goal from the eighteen-yard-line and they elected to go for it. They were able to complete a short pass that came up well short of the goal line and gave East the ball.

The Gamble defense started off playing very well and looked to be playing as a unit and that showed up big at the 2:23 mark of the quarter, when #55(NOT ON THE ROSTER) tackled Kaylin Heard, for a loss of five. From there the Gators defense stood even stronger and force a punt a short time later.

The quarter came to an end with the Gators converting a fourth and one, with a two-yard run by #5.
The Gators would start the 2nd quarter first and goal from the Falcons eleven-yard-line.

With 11:09 left in the 2nd quarter MARTIS EDWARDS fumbled the ball and coming up with it for the Falcons was #21(NOT ON THE ROSTER). Gamble just could not shooting themselves in the foot, but so far their sloppy play had not hurt them as far as giving up points.

Kaylin Heard picked up a first down for the Falcons, with 10:00 left in the half. The run was short and sweet because it converted a fourth and one. Then with the clock ticking down to 9:33 #24 Jamir Eubanks showed some nice speed as he picked up twenty-four-yards, giving the Falcons another first down. Heard would go fifty-one-yards and put the Falcons up 6-0, with 9:18 left.A two point conversion pass failed and this stayed a 6-0 Falcons lead.

The Gators would answer with a sixty-seven-yard run by #10 Gilbert Mallory to tie this one up and then the point after kick from #33(NOT ON THE ROSTER) gave the Gators a 7-6 lead, with 7:12 left in the half. At this point these two teams had looked very evenly matched and this looked to be anyone's game.

At the 6:57 mark of the quarter, Ivan Percy Jr. made a nice catch and run to pick up twenty-four-yards for the Falcons.
The drive hit a hiccup, when Heard was tackled for a five-yard-loss by #72(NOT ON THE ROSTER) at the 5:30 mark of the quarter.
Twenty-eight-seconds later the Falcons ran a nice little screen pass to #7 Aviyon Fitz, that picked up close to forty-yards. #4 Michael King showed some nice touch on his throw. With 47.4 seconds left in the half, Fitz connected with Percy, for a twenty-four-yard touchdown and then Heard scored on the two-point conversion, with a power run, to make this a 14-7 Falcons lead.

Just :55 seconds into the third quarter #7 Fitz raced fifty-yards for another Falcons score and following the point after kick by #61(NOT ON THE ROSTER)made this a 21-7 game.

The Falcons offense soared high with 8:56 left in the quarter, when #24 Jamir Eubanks went twelve-yards for another score. The point after kick made this a 28-7 game and the route was on.

The game would see another score when King hit Heard for a twenty-yard touchdown. The point after kick was missed again causing this to stay a 34-7 contest, with 3:57 left in the half.

The Falcons defense got one final big pay in the quarter, when #25 Jailen Breelove laid a Jack Tatum like hit on #5 and held him to no gain.
The quarter ended with the once tight game having a 34-7 score, with the Falcons flying high.

The final score of the game came on a 40 something yard run by Fitz, after he scooped up a Gamble fumble.A two-point conversion try failed and the score stayed40-7 Falcons.

Their were three more plays of note in this one, with the first being a King to Heard pass, when the Falcons faced a fourth and fifteen.
After a bad snap from the Falcons center, that caused King to fumble the ball , #55 form Gamble made the recovery.
The final play came when #61 (NOT ON THE ROSTER) sacked Antonio Wilcox Jr., the Gators back up quarterback. Wilcox came in to replace #5, who was hurt earlier in the half.
