What happened with the forfeits? Ineligible players?

The player played all nine games, including four games the Irish won. According to Tim Stried of the Ohio High School Athletic Association, Fisher Catholic violated Bylaw 4-4-1.

Fisher Catholic principal Joe Jasinski said the OHSAA brought the matter to the school’s attention and even though he said the school was surprised, they complied.

“It was a previous grading period issue where the student didn’t meet academic requirements,” Jasinski said. “It was an oversight by our athletic department. Moving forward, we will implement procedures to make sure something like this doesn’t happen again.”

For Region 27 this year, this doesn't appear to have many implications.

For Region 27 next year, it could have some. Assuming no returning players end up transferring out, FC will have a team with some offensive firepower. They'll be returning a 1,000 yard, 12 TD 5 INT qb; 1200 yards of rushing between two players; a stable of wide receivers, including the #1 target this year who broke his arm in week 3. Defensively, it'll remain to be seen. Just depends on how well they do out of conference, vs Crooksville (team they choked to in the 4Q this year), Fairbanks (tough), and Centennial. Good roster #'s for a small D7. The big issue will be moving on from the gut-punch of having four decisive beatdowns taken away from you.

As for the game tonight, Rosecrans losing is contingent on who is out for FC. I don't know who the ineligible player is. Who I thought it could have been didn't play in the 24-3 win over Worthington Christian in week 7, yet that's also a forfeit.

FC has the better talent and numbers situation (36 to BR's 16) but the Bishops have the better team and coaching.

Sad that this happens.

I hope Fisher Catholic does not see any players leave after this.

Assuming Rosecrans beats FC, Rosecrans will lose 4.5 L2 points.(FC beat Worthington Christian on the field, Rosecrans did not) At the bottom end of r27 that could make a difference in seeds.
