Did Trimble play Vinton county or Meigs this year? Those two programs were the cream of the crop this year in the TVC JR.high division.

Yes they did play meigs and they got beat.

A template for Varsity Success: Jackson JH football. They consistently go undefeated in the JH level and it translates into their varsity program. I would assume that Trimble would never even think about scheduling games with Jackson or even Chillicothe.

Each program and community is different. One size does not fit all. Down here in South Carolina though, many of the programs that are of championship caliber do not expose their players to tackle football until the ninth grade. Flag football taught by the high school coaching staff seems to work. The youth learn the high school system and do not get burned out nor learn bad fundamentals from well meaning volunteer coaches. An added bonus is that participation numbers are good and this also seems to allay parent fears of injury.

I think it starts earlier than 8th grade football. Look down to the elementary level. The successful high school teams all have successful biddy league programs at the grades 2-4 and 5-6 levels.

A good example: For this years seniors, Nelsonville-York defeated Tri Valley for the Super Bowl back in elementary school. Look what NY and Tri Valley have done this year at the high school varsity level.

NY and Trimble are always near the top of the standings in their biddy league year after year.
