Wheelersburg Football Last 10 Years

Post by LucasDavenport »

In 2008 Coach Woodward was making his debut as Head Coach for The Wheelersburg Pirates.

Wheelersburg’s Record during those 10 years is 105-20.

Wheelersburg’s Playoff Record is 17-8 (9 appearances)

Wheelersburg has 2 Regional Championships and 3 Regional Runner-ups. (All in the last 5 years).

Wheelersburg was 3-4 in the playoffs from 2008-2012 —- missing the playoffs in 2011 and losing in the first round in 2012.

What if The Folks in Wheelersburg would have lost patience?

They didn’t. And from 2013-2017 this has occurred.

48-2 Regular Season Record

Last regular season loss was to Jackson 9/26/2014 (Week 5)

Current winning streaks—- 35 Regular Season. 15 overall.

5 straight Regional Finals with 2 Championships

14-4 in the playoffs in the last 5 years. (Wheelersburg is 35-27 all time——21-23 before 2013)

2-1 in the State Tournament.

1 State Championship

Yeah Sorry

Burg has 2 rivals in football in my opinion. ( it used to be 3)

7-3 vs Ironton. 2-3 first five years. 5-0 since.

8-2 vs West. 3-2 first five years. 5-0 since.

So 15-5 in Rivalry games.

The Pirates deserve every bit of their success. They have worked hard for it and I wish them continued success

Used to be 3, but Portsmouth eventually showed their true colors and ran.

Rob has done an amazing job. He has the program rolling.

What I find shocking is that Burg only won 21 playoff games in their first 24 appearances. That seems so low to me. When you consider they won 4 in 1989 and 2 in 1998, that only leaves 15 wins in the other 22 playoff trips. That seems like a lot of first round exits for a program that has been so good for so long. I'm guessing a bunch of these were in the early years of the playoffs? Early 80's maybe?
