I agree, Ferry is a good pickup for NY. The next step for them is playing teams from other parts of the state. It’s hard to be fully prepared to compete at the state level if you stay in your own sandbox all the time.
I was at that ‘97 game and it was a beat down to say the least. Knowing that Bellaire threw the ball all over the place back then, it probably would have been much worse if the weather and field conditions weren’t horrendous.

You have to consider travel times when scheduling. We scheduled Liberty center and the travel time was awful. You also have to consider that a lot of teams from outside the area don't want to travel to Athens county when they can find a game within 20-30 minutes of them.Edmond Dantes wrote: ↑Sat Mar 10, 2018 1:04 pmI agree, Ferry is a good pickup for NY. Sleeper Players in the TVC
Anyone have any insight to any sleeper football players in the TVC who should make big impacts in 2018-19?

Any guesses on the line backing replacements, DB and ends? Big loss for them with Dickelman, Albin, Haseley and Tritipo.Raider6309 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2018 2:37 pm Athens will be interesting at QB. Bring back a 2,000 yard passer but have a sophomore QB that looked unfair playing JV as a freshman last year. Should be a good QB battle in the summer. Athens strengths will be the D line and offensive line. We have to replace both linebackers on defense
Re: Sleeper Players in the TVC
I look for Rylan Molihan to be a major offensive weapon for Wellston.

Jayden and Evan Spires will push us over the top this fall. We will beat athens for the tvc championship and jackson better watch out too. VC kids coming to Wellston. I love it!

Oh, the Spires kids are transferring to Wellston? I have heard Athens and Meigs were in the mix for them. Interesting.WellstonLover wrote: ↑Thu Apr 05, 2018 11:49 am Jayden and Evan Spires will push us over the top this fall. We will beat athens for the tvc championship and jackson better watch out too. Very likely Jackson will lose one or quite possibly two of the remaining games.

Agree Don. The cupboard is bare in Jackson.
Wellston probably the favorite this fall .

I believe it, when I see it. The Spires kids are indeed great athletes. However, Jayden would have to sit at least 5 games, but Evan could open enroll. I know the family has concerns, but if they can put the emotion aside and think of the bigger picture, I think commonsense will prevail. Things change, time rolls on and sometimes you have to weather the storm to reach the still waters of the bay. I personally would like to see them stay, and be the change we need, take root, and fight.

Whose going to be the leaders for Athens this year? I am sure Clay Davis, but any others in the mix? Moore? Is that the Freshman QB from last year?

Also, who becomes the leaders at NY? Williams and Wilburn? any others?

Athens will be better than last years team. The OL and DL will be the leaders since it’s all back. Maxfield will pick up the slack for losing Tritipo. Clay Davis will throw over 2000 yards again. Hopefully Athens can improve it’s running attackAllthewayup11 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 06, 2018 3:26 pmSo thus the question, who becomes the go to leaders at Athens?

The sophomores to be are loaded with skill players. Have been really good since 7th grade. Some players out of that class will have an impact on next year's team.Raider6309 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 06, 2018 7:58 pmAthens will be better than last years team.
