Reading these posts a good coach would be stupid to take this job. This is a dead end job where coaches go to die.

They'll get a coach and be motivated till 5 games in when they're calling for his head.

Wheelersburg outlaws was formed by a bunch of dads for there kids not buy burg football or school they were forced to fold by school
Outlaws was never forced out by the school. No one wanted to take it over so we donated the equipment to the Wheelersburg peewee program . You really should no what you're talking about before you post anything!
Know not no. I hated English in school
Yea a school can't force a pee wee team to fold. Pee wee football isn't really officially affiliated with the school districts.

Sammons left around 2004 to take the Greenup job where he was from

Tipton coached till 2006 and left on his own

Triplett coached till 2010 and took a leave for 1 season. Shaffer coached in 2011

Triplett left on his own in 2013

Johnson then took over

Duncan was a good man and was never given a chance. The problems at Portsmouth go farther than the coach. And these problems won't be resolved with the next guy either. There is too much turmoil in the system and not enough talent to overcome it for a year or two to change things. Portsmouth will be terrible for the next few years no matter who the coach is imo. And the next coached will be axed too for the same problems

14U. You hit one of the nails on the head.Westfan who’s in charge to stop the turmoil within program. Where does the problems start with and why isn’t these persons held responsible.

Here is an idea from way, way out west. Drop football and start that game where the ball is kicked and let the kids go play football at another school. IMO, open enrollment is a killer.
This way no more 2 year football coach to worry over. The football park will make a great venue for soccer.

Burg was in the pee wee league as the Outlaws. They just folded a few years back

Burg coaches never supported outlaws that why it fell through.

Burg’s pee wee is officially affiliated with the school. They are provided equipment, uniforms, and playing field by the school. The person in charge of the program is paid by the school. Also the peewee cheerleading is ran by the jr high and high school cheerleading coaches. That responsibility is included in their salaries.

First of all it’s a shame the Aaron Duncan is no longer the head football coach.Every parent in that school system should want their son around Aaron as much as possible. He is a class act and truly cares about the kids beyond football. Not to mention he led the Trojans to two consecutive non-losing seasons. That’s not a big deal to most schools but to a program that has seen nothing but losing over the past 10-15 years, that’s a major improvement. Secondly, it’s not his fault that he had to work under a let’s just say less than stellar, mostly unsupportive administration. Thirdly, regardless of the opinions of the largely delusional fan base... PHS does not have the talent people think they have. Lastly, You can not change a culture that does not want to be changed. There are simply too many parents/families in the system that have their own agendas and are trying to live through their kids. Let the HS football program control the pee wee system. No one cares that your 12 year old son has a full beard , outweighs everyone by fifty pounds, and dominates at the pee wee level. How about have your own league and focus on development instead of chasing a plastic pee wee super bowl trophy straight off the shelf of Larry Moore sporting goods. The next coach needs to have full administrative support, total control of the pee wee program, surround himself with the right people, and get rid of daddy ball. I personally think it is a long shot that the “program” ever reaches consistent respectability again. I hope they do but the problems extend way beyond the head coach and/or coaching staff.

All the crybaby daddies living through their children can post all they want, but the truth is you won’t find a coach who will work harder than Bruce Kalb to make Portsmouth Football great again.

You all need to take a long look in the mirror.

Nut wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2017 10:43 am If Bruce Kalb is named the head football coach of Portsmouth it's the biggest fail in Trojan history.
With all the talk, I decided to read the many Portsmouth forums over this season.

Nut “I think a lot of these so called adults need to get a life. Go Trojans! My personal opinion is that Portsmouth won't get beat this year and the Burg is making a huge mistake by starting Salyers over Dyer. Now that all the New Boston kids are gone the Burg is gonna start going down hill. Bahaaa”

Well Nut, I think your credibility might be shot by this post.

Reading clowns post, why and who wouldn’t want to change this culture. just look at the results. Is this a friend friends. A true Trojan hire . If so , my thoughts are why so , change has to occur in places and the community should have a voice in each case after years of not producing teams that grow and learn each year towards making at least the playoffs.Does a school board have any input in situations in each district.

I don't think anyone would disagree that Bruce would work hard but it's a proven fact from the play calling last year that he's not the man for the job.
