It's possible but I don't think they will lol
D4 is possible D3 is NOT... you can only move up or down 1 division per year

O&B you should know this

You must have missed on a previous post.

From the OHSAA website: In addition, the board also approved a modification to the business rules for competitive balance, which removes the previous regulation that allowed a school to move up only one division due to competitive balance.

25 Moved up due to EMIS, down due to Competitive Balance (CB) but net result is same Division as 2017

12 Moved down a Division due to Competitive Balance (CB)

8 Moved down a Division due to EMIS (enrollment) numbers

28 Moved down due to EMIS, up due to Competitive Balance (CB) but net result is same Division as 2017

No earth shattering moves. Toledo Central Catholic was moved to Division 2 thus a 2 division move. Lutheran East made a 2 division jump from D7 to D5. Fairland moved up to Division 4 and Amanda Clearcreek dropped to Division 5.

It should be noted that Minford is at 160, barely in D5 on the verge of dropping to D6.

Within the next few years, Wheelersburg should move up to Division IV due to some large classes in the middle school.

Wouldn't mind seeing that, some real heavyweights in that region though. Teams like Clinton Massie, Wyoming, and Valley View.

Do these numbers change again in the fall after practice starts? I thought they did last year

No, this change is based on the 2017 rosters. There will be a date in the fall when schools have to submit their 2018 roster information and that will be used to calculate the 2019 competitive balance number. Also, since this will be a count year, there will be updated enrollment numbers, so there could be more changes than this year.

It appears that Minford has some bigger classes coming up, so I would guess their number of 160 will increase a little with the new count this fall.

Thanks for posting those links. Was trying to compare those numbers to past numbers in classes. Looks like Wheelersburg will probably be D4 after this year. West will probably stay D5.

Those numbers are interesting. That last count listed was October of 2016, so I suppose the 11th graders on that count are seniors now. Starting with seniors now down to kindergarten was the following:

Wheelersburg: 93, 98, 118, 111, 136, 116, 133, 118, 130, 138, 143, 140

Valley: 50, 78, 85, 78, 73, 84, 73, 80, 64, 95, 76, 94

Minford: 76, 97, 110, 122, 107, 96, 128, 106, 111, 109, 87, 101

West: 78, 93, 109, 132, 103, 119, 126, 113, 116, 109, 113, 114

Northwest: 58, 120, 113, 119, 104, 129, 113, 93, 108, 110, 110, 120

Add in the multiplier, which this count was:
30 for Wheelersburg
4 for Northwest
4 for West
8 for Minford

It looks like there could be some movement going forward

Burg is growing. They will go back and forth in d5 and d4 in the near future. Kids will want to go there especially after winning the state. As long as current coaches stay, they will be a team that will normally stay in the playoffs for a shot at the title.
