Caldwell is open week 5 but will not play the Tomcats. They say it doesnt benefit them to play. Best case senerio for the Cats is leave week 5 as a bye week play 9 game schedule and it lowers there divisor come playoff time.

Point Pleasant is looking for a game that week. They need to schedule four games. Weeks 2 (8-31), 5 (9-21), 6 (9-28), 7 (10-5), or week 10 (10-26).

Last I heard, NY still needs a week 2 opponent on 8-31. It would need to be a home game for NY to have 5 home and 5 away games.

There's nothing in the books that says team has to have 5-5 for home and away. So that's not a reason

That's why the following year one ends up with more home than away games. If the accounting books are #1 priority then should just sign 1 year deals with only home games in mind, can be just like Steubenville.

That’s probably easier said than done, though, given how asymmetrical the TVC-Hocking schedule works.

The easy answer here would have been to develop a coordinated master schedule between the Ohio division and the Hocking so that if two teams wanted to play each other they would have matching open weeks. Apparently that is entirely too hard to figure out. To me, it would make sense that some teams might have old rivalries that would be good to maintain and that a few new ones might emerge. For example, It would have been very handy if Trimbles week 5 open date had been the same as Alexanders open date. Meigs used to play wahama and has played southern and eastern at times. Maybe they could look at a local game instead of getting throttled by st clairsville. River Valley and South Gallia should have corresponding dates. I know that in some cases maybe schools would still not choose to play but at least if we took the steps to give them an option we could solve a scheduling issue or two. The league obviously has no desire to expand but should consider steps to make scheduling in their open weeks easier.

So you want TVC teams to only play other TVC teams non league?

Who cares what should be done....Are there any teams that are out there with openings other than Point and Caldwell?? The 9 game schedule is looking like it may happen if we can’t find anyone.

Caldwell doesnt want to play the Cats. They say it doesnt benefit them any. Trimble is In the playoffs every year and if they would win theres a bunch of points for them but yet it doesnt benefit. Point I dont about them no one is saying anything

I thought the same thing about getting points if they beat trimble.
Why is Trimble not playing Alex this year?

It’s asking a lot of a team aspiring to make playoffs to sacrifice that opportunity by scheduling someone who is in prime position for one of the eight spots. It’s happened lately, where two teams in Region 27 that are playoff caliber schedule each other with the loser getting booted.

As an aside, there are teams in Region 27 (especially in the Central OH area) that have tried to schedule the TVC-Hocking out of conference (usually not powerhouse versus powerhouse) only to get turned down. Trimble usually isn’t the one getting contacted because they’re (or... past tense, were) already playing NY and Alexander in out of conference.
