Re: Warren TVC?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Just doing some reading here and was thinking about a SEOAL revival. Warren, Logan, Marietta and Point Pleasant would be a great start. Marietta is in the ECOL and all other teams in the league are in the East District. Marietta is in the Southeast District. Warren, Logan, and Point need a league. I think Ripley needs a league as well. This is not like the old days, but it is a start and it just might give Galia and Jackson something to think about.
Logan, Jackson, Galia, Point, and Ripley all have fine facilities and Warren has news schools being built. Marietta continues to share with Marietta College and has a nice history in the S.E. District (over 100 years I think)
Schools not having a league affiliation can work, but it is not ideal. Coaches, players, families, and communities like to compete for titles and being in a league is one way you can do it.
My guess is if you could get the leaders of all these school in a room together and made a list of positives and negatives, that this would be a very easy decision for everyone involved.

Not saying I'm against that idea, but I think it's a pipe dream . You could add Athens to that lineup and have a nice 8 team SEOAL again, compact with reasonable commutes. Of course that's too far for Athens to drive ( lol, we all know the reason they cut and run). Not aware of the politics with Ripley or Point. Jackson is in a cake league now that they will dominate for decades. You of all people should know of the politics at Warren and Marietta. Gallia will continue to shrink n enrollment and has a league now that they should be competitive in. And Logan continues to look North as their long term future is there. I'm sure some might be interested, but for how long ? Losing makes some develope happy feet, lol

Because Paladin made it up in his head. Gallia actually has an increase. Gallia has a tiny senior and junior class (120) but should get back to 160-180 again in a few years. Warren has a huge decrease coming

Please stop Raider. Look up any number of govt data -- Gallipolis lost 13.7% of their population base since 2000. Much of SEO is similar. As the population leaves , so also do people who produce kids because there are fewer jobs to support families. What data can you show for increases other than your guess ? Gallia has fewer kids because they are losing population base, jobs, businesses, etc. I see schools moving down size wise as well as classifications in sports. You telling everyone Gallipolis is growing and they should build new schools to take care of the increase ?

Check the data charts. Gallipolis has lost kids continuously since the charts I saw from 1989 onward ( about 3000 kids then) and now are at 2100 and projections shows continued downtrend.

Warren will drop to 600 in a few years
Gallia will increase to around 700
Athens will stay the same

Almost every school district in Ohio is down but they will increase by 100 students in the next 5 years

Re: Warren TVC?
Gallia county population in 1990 was 30,343...in 2015 was 30,141. And after a trend of almost 40 years of the county population getting older it is now getting youngerAnd if you look at households with children under the age of 18 is on the increase also. Ask almost any school in Gallipolis city schools and they will tell you enrollment is trending upward since new schools were built.. especially last 3 years.

Who would Jackson want to play Marietta , Logan , Gallia , warren ?? They all terrible programs . Athens isn't as good as Chillicothe .Paladin wrote: ↑Thu Nov 23, 2017 11:35 am Not saying I'm against that idea, but I think it's a pipe dream . Would be a step down from the FAC. Nah Jackson is perfectly fine

3 tier TVC
We need to add teams and make it a 3 tier conference. It would make things a lot more competitive top to bottom. Thoughts????
