Re: OVC Previews
Good job Fighting Tigers, keep up the hard work. Still a lot of work to do before week 1
Re: OVC Previews
Looks like Pendleton had the Tigers rolling tonight!! Or was Gallipolis down? Anyways good momentum going into the season
Re: OVC Previews
Ironton had good energy and played hard. The blue devils it was hard to see numbers but i do believe on defense. I think at the most they played 5 starters that got any snaps. On offense blue devils played starting QB about a quarter. The center and only one other lineman that played will start blue devils ran there h back as there primary back and worked in 1's and 2's at receivers. the only thing i took from devils is that the QB looked horrible on throws

Reactions
RH - Improved but seems a year away.
Peake - Coach Clark will get the most out of his charges. Browning is a talent
SP - Improved numbers. Product is better but still is on bottom looking up in this league.
Portsmouth - Parker is a difference maker.
Ironton - Better than expected from the talk in the bleachers.
Gallia Academy - High hopes for this bunch in French City. Penrod and company have some tall expectations to meet based on chat with some fans.
Fairland - defensive scheme is offensive. Yikes!
Coal Grove - Not on the same level as last year at this time.

Re: OVC Previews
I wasn’t at the scrimmage at Athens but I am guessing they ran it like they did the one last year at Gallia if so I am sure it was hard to tell because it was a controlled practice.
Last year at Gallia they went 7 on 7 how the lineman did drills for like 20 minutes. Then they went front 7’s against front 7’s. Just working on run blocking. Receivers and d backs ran other drills while this was going on about 20 minutes.
Then they basically spent 20 minutes recognizing offensive and defensive lineups and coverages.
Then they maybe ran 10 snaps of live offense each side then the job players took over. I am sure this year was ran similar.
My guess is we will not really know what we have until we line up against meigs. My understanding after last night was in jamboree game next week that if they were all healthy maybe we would see all the starters on offense for about 7 scripted plays before subs and on defense we would not see the whole projected starting 11 at all.
Blue devils spent last night and will spend the jamboree 1st 2 quarters looking for a few kids to jump and gain varsity snaps. Blue devils really looking for depth. On offensive and defensive line and in defensive backfield.
They are very happy with there starters but the depth is very young.
Re: OVC Previews
Is the staff trying to keep kids healthy by limiting snaps or they have kids hurt and are trying to get them back on the field?

Re: OVC Previews
How are these games played.
Like a Friday Night game or are things tweaked?
Thanks.
