The sophomores Moore and Gail are starting to put up big numbers. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is close at half but Athens pulls away in the second half

Vinton County not playing with much confidence right now. Bulldogs with probably an easy win.

Normally id say under because Athens doesn’t usually have much of a crowd. This might be the biggest crowd at Athens this season though with it being homecoming. VC will bring a decent crowd although if the Vikings could have pulled off the win against meigs last week, they might have brought more.

Listen as lugs and Nathan talk about this weeks Athens game with the color commentator for the Athens Bulldogs, Matt Frazee. The guys also reveal the newest TVC Ohio AP rankings as well as give their lists of players in the running for the POY. They finish the show, as always, with their rapid fire predictions! Listen in!

If Vinton Co. is not able to throw the ball and have a little success ,I just don't think they can run the ball and expect to score very much at all on Athens. The Bulldogs had trouble defending the pass against a pretty good passing team in Fairland. If Athens jumps on the Vikings early, I wouldn't be surprised if they win by a pretty large margin.

VC attempted 2 passes last week and 1 was in OT, both incomplete.

VInton County outrushed Meigs 242 yards to 79 yards and won the time of possession battle even with 15 less offensive plays by 3 minutes.

Unfortunately only thing that matters is that scoreboard number. Good Luck VC but Athens just to much and each year I'm more and more amazed that Athens is in the TVC. lol. People talk about Northwest and Oak Hill in the SOCI which Oak Hill is moving up and Athens is a DIII playing against mostly DV and DVI schools.

Athens by alot the Vikings don't have the firepower to compete with Athens. It is a shame, if those transfers hadn't left the Vikings would be 4-0 right now. Good to luck to my friends and family members in VC. Im going to watch my school, Jackson take on the defending state champs.

And to think, the difference between Athens and the smallest school (Nelsonville-York) is not even close to the difference you see in the MVL.

Tri Valley vs Crooksville ... That's DII vs DVI
Maysville vs West Muskingum ... DIII vs DV

Disparity exists in most leagues, especially in Southeast Ohio ... Most of my life Logan was Athens biggest rival and they had over 500 boys - when we were closer to 250, 275. I can't remember a single time complaining or whining over it.
