Fairfield Union ( Div-4 ) playing at home against Amanda Clearcreek ( Div-5 ). FU has lost to 2 pretty good teams to start the season. Amanda is always tough to beat. Should be a very good game.

Amanda hasnt really been tested they have played teams with a combined record of 3-13... should be a good game, FU defense played well last week, not sure what Amanda has, they have put some points up on the board.
Good luck Falcons!!

Shocked that there is not more talk about this game. Since Ron Hinton left is there not as much interest in Amanda Clearcreek football?

I'm gonna go for the upset at home for the Falcons in this one.

Again, as with LE last week, I'm not sure how good AC is yet. They had to work in the 2nd half to beat both Liberty Union and Logan Elm, who between them probably won't win 4 games. I think this is a toss up game this week.

There is definitely still a lot of interest in football at AC, but the varsity results have been very inconsistent the past 10 years (this started before Ron Hinton left). Over the years, I think the casual fans (retirees and childless people in the community and those who were not from SW Fairfield County) have mostly stopped coming.

In terms of discussion board posters, there were several from AC on the old jjhuddle board, but most seem to have either stopped when their kids graduated or not migrated to other boards. Of course it was easier for more posters to beat chests when AC was making deep playoff runs each year too.

I think some may not have come here because, though AC is geographically in SE Ohio (they certainly are if Pickaway County, FU, and Perry County are), they aren't in the SE District and there were few AC-related topics here (only when they played district teams) until recent years.

Coincidentally, I know at least twice in the last ten years that AC has appealed to OHSAA to be moved to the SE District but don't know if that continues to be a desire.

Aces proved my skepticism wrong tonight. Great job taking care of business.

I'm not surprised that they won, but I am shocked after the way they played last week against LE, that they would just blow Fairfield Union away.

Amanda lost its stud running back Garren Dilley in the final week of the regular-season in 2009. That team wins the region if he's healthy. Nearly got to the regional final without him....lost 15-12 in the regional semifinal.
