HOW DO YOU SEE THIS PLAYING OUT YA'LL. BOTH TEAMS SETTING AT 3-2. IRONTON CURRENTLY RANKED 7TH IN DIV. 5 REGION 19, WITH THE CHESAPEAKE PANTHERS RIGHT BEHIND THEM AT 8. IRONTON DISPATCHED OF A POINTER TEAM UNDER NEW LEADERSHIP STILL STRUGGLING. AND CHESAPEAKE JUST KNOCKED OFF LAST YEARS OVC CHAMP COAL GROVE WHO MOST THOUGHT WOULD REPEAT AS CHAMPS. AND THEY STILL WELL COULD. BUT THE IRONTON GAME WENT AS EXPECTED. WHILE I HAVE TO THINK MOST SAW THE CHESAPEAKE WIN AS AN UPSET. ''RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE'' IN A BATTLE OF BIG CATS FRIDAY.

with the exception of 2 ovc teams still struggling with rock hill at 1-4, and south point at 0-5. the ovc looks very deep and even as they week 6 approach's here are how the others stand
fairland 3-2
ironton 3-2
Chesapeake 3-2
coal grove 3-2
gahs 4-1
portsmouth 3-2

so it could be very exciting and competitive coming down the home stretch, with some very key matchups looming. teams fighting for playoff spots. we could see in my opinion as many as 3 in the playoffs at this point. and gahs and Portsmouth have came storming back into contention, in my honest opinion gahs, the biggest of the ovc schools looks to be the elephant in the room right now.

Be a tough first half but Ironton should wear them down.
Key will be keeping penalties down and turnovers.
Peak is improving steadily like Ironton is.

I doubt that Chesapeake can do anything to Ironton that the Tigers have not already faced this year. I know the Peake has improved since early in the season. After facing Burg and Ashland, I think only the Blue Devils are capable of giving the Tigers a run for the League Championship.I know they are only half way through the season, but I think the Tigers are playing with more confidence each and every game.

Ironton is a 17 point favorite in my opinion. One thing that really shocks me about this Ironton team is the penalties. Usually a team that has a coaching staff that is supposedly very tough and strict have this part of the game taken care off after a game or two. This Tiger team is actually getting worse with the penalties. I'm not even talking about the turnovers. That's part of the game. The number of Penalties is killing them...It cost them the Ashland Game. No discipline or concentration when it come to this department....After 5 games this should have been taken care off...Look it's one thing to be aggressive and hard nosed but if you can't play smart and under control you won't go far in the playoffs.....Just a little example..The # 2 team in the Country that Ironton played and beat 19-14 Arch Bishop Carrol of Washington DC was more talented than Ironton . What they didn't have was discipline. They weren't well Coached and it showed..Lined up off sides. Jumped offsides the entire game..They held and just played street ball...Now all you homers on here who hate Ironton will say Bishop Carrol was homered but that's not true...They didn't play as a team..Very talented but not smart and no discipline.. Ironton's Coach main goal at this point in the season should be to get his players under control and stop the penalities...Their playing hard. Their playing with emotion. their not playing smart....
