New coach and Talent is a little down.
If the kids stick with it and buy in they will turn it around.
Talent down? Apparently the junior class is loaded! All you heard through the years was how dominant they were! Also, last time RV had a dominant junior class and no senior class they were 5-5 or 6-4, can’t remember exactly but right around .500
Circa 2003ish?
2003 was a 6-4 year, but I'd say the senior class was very good and the biggest part of that as the next year, my senior class completely screwed the pooch.

Playing a much tougher schedule this year also.
Opponent record to date
CG 4-2 (losses to PWest and Peake)
GA 5-1 (loss to Jackson)
Portsmouth 3-3 (losses to teams with combined 14-4)
NY 2-4 (losses to teams with combined record 21-3)
Meigs 2-4
Wellston 3-3
Just sayin

Very telling, as they started the season against 3 pretty good teams. I know the Rockets are playing with a lot of confidence right now, and will not be an easy out for anyone the rest of the season.

Why are you so negative against river valley . Obviously you have no idea what the season has been like for them and also the tough schedule we have had this year . That’s all the truth no excuses .

This is quickly becoming a dumpster fire.

1. Zero confidence. I wasn’t the biggest Sparling fan ever but the program carries itself completely different now.
2. Worst offense I have ever seen. Period. And I was around for the 0-41. Do they have game plans, or just a plan to run the ball 95% of the time, regardless of alignment, down and distance, or personnel? I get it if you want to be a power offense, but can you really win at RV doing that? Also, if you don’t have that type of personnel, why wouldn’t you coach to what you have? Isn’t that what coaching is? It was halfway through the season and they had less than 100 yards of total offense. That’s pathetic.
3. Say what you want about the schedule, but they should have been competitive in most.
4. I have yet to see an adjustment. Only screaming and yelling at the boys. That hasn’t worked either.

I just don’t get how the place could go back to what it used to be so quickly. After 6 games, it seems as if the program is bleeding out....Again.

Was this aimed at my comment?
Not making excuses just stating facts. This years schedule has no resemblance to the schedule over the past 6-8 years.

They also aren’t playing waverly this year AND the TVC is down. All 3 teams they’ve played so far are worse than they were last year.

The TVC is way down. They should have competed against everyone except maybe Gallipolis.

They won 7 games in 2015 and got in the playoffs. If you can get in the playoffs at 7-3, that’s a decent schedule. They played 3 playoff teams, plus Meigs and Athens were good teams that year too.

This year, they will probably play one, that being Gallipolis. I don’t think Coal Grove will get in, nor will Athens.

The point is, they haven’t once been competitive and they should have. In my opinion, you should at least start asking questions as to why you haven’t been competitive instead of making excuses.

I loved the kids that went through the county school system around that time.
