I agree with the turf thing. Every school should have it IMO. But it can be advantageous to have a natural surface when a faster team comes to town and it goes uncut for a couple weeks.

With the amount of rain and humidity that we have seen this late summer/early fall the grass is growing faster than they can probably cut it. At least that is the case at my house.Jolly P(irate) wrote: ↑Wed Sep 26, 2018 9:52 am I agree with the turf thing. Every school should have it IMO. After a couple of weeks they would have to call Lang's Farm in to round bale it lol.

At my house too Bleeding Red. I'm sick of cutting grass.Bleeding Red wrote: ↑Wed Sep 26, 2018 10:14 amWith the amount of rain and humidity that we have seen this late summer/early fall the grass is growing faster than they can probably cut it. The field at Minford doesn't seem to drain very well or something. Seems to me it doesn't have much crown on it. Maybe it did when they first build it, but they had to flatten it out to make end zones. Lol. Sorry couldn't help my self.

haha, I remember that happening. If they do ever get turf, hope they get an outside source to measure for them. They have nice facilities over there, turf would be a nice addition to it. As for the game, i still think West take this one. Might be closer than people think, but i think West will pull away late.

The team that has the least amount of turnovers wins. It's that simple.

That may be a part of it but there is a little more to it than that, what if neither lose a possession? Then who?
Re: Portsmouth West (4-1) @ Minford (5-0)
Should be a great ballgame. I say it won't be by more than 1 score for whoever wins.

Line play is what I believe it will come down to the most.West Side Pride wrote: ↑Wed Sep 26, 2018 9:12 pm That may be a part of it but there is a little more to it than that, what if neither lose a possession? Then who?

First real test of the season for Minford and I do think West is more battle tested so I am gonna take West by 10

No it is not, and it will be fine for Friday. No rain in the forecast and it will be 75-degrees on Friday with great game time weather.

I would think by the 2nd quarter there will be very loose/slick spots on the field. We've had a ton of rain and there wont be much sunshine or wind today or tomorrow to help dry it up.
Thats the beauty of playing on natural grass.......just like the game was designed!

If the field is mud or loose West has the advantage because of their line is big and physical. Rain up until 10pm tonight and Minford field stays wet and muddy for days!

It all started last week when RACELAND had a person have three new accounts!!Hylander wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 7:55 pmCan we PLEASE stop making these fake accounts trashing one school? It's a bad look.
Anyway, I don't know much about Minford but I think the weather will play a big factor into this one. Hopefully it's not as bad as 2015, but that did turn into a really good game.

No rain in the forecast. It rained a big part of the day on my side of the county. It will be a muddy mess.

Wish every school had the money for turf hopefully Minford is already in the process of doing some fund raisers and saving money to install turf in The near future hopefully West is also

At one time I believe West was talking about it. Don't know if they still are or not. Northwest will start on theirs the day after the last home game in 3 or 4 weeks. Northwest will also have a indoor facility with 30 yards of turf.Burgfan/grad85 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 27, 2018 8:19 pm Wish every school had the money for turf hopefully Minford is already in the process of doing some fund raisers and saving money to install turf in The near future hopefully West is also
